[RWC2019][Pool A] Round 1 - Ireland vs. Scotland (22/09/2019)

they aren't really slowing down Ireland at the breakdown .
This is why some sides hate playing against Barnes he actually officiates the breakdown extremely well (sometimes to deteriment to the offside line) so trying to slow down the breakdown illegally actually becomes very hard.

People then complain that he officiates it too hard.

Ireland showing Scotland what defence is, there
Beautiful read/decision making
Yep great defence. The timing on the wraparound was just slightly off too, which made it possible. That’s the trouble with Scotland’s style of play, it needs to be perfect execution and you just can’t realistically expect that all the time

Edit:
Stockdale showing what difference half a second makes.

My point exactly, lose half a second with a slightly off move, a good defence takes that chance

All Scotland need at halftime is for Russell to have a pop at Gregor about the game plan and then go out and play the opposite to what the coach thought would work.

16 points in Japan is chump-change compared to 30-odd at twickers... simples :).

Edit. In all seriousness though, Watson looks gonners... devastating for Scotland.
