[RWC2019][Pool A] Round 1 - Ireland vs. Scotland (22/09/2019)

This Scottish performance is in line with Tier 2 nations.
Ireland look to have found their 2018 form

Ouch, one of Scotland's decent forwards and there aren't many of those.

Yeah this was my thought too. Ireland have cause havoc at the breakdown during the Scottish attack, this is going to make it even harder.

Yeah, pretty much that is his tournament over. At least he wasn't put on the oxygen, which would have been a sign it was a break.

Well what do both teams do now? Scotland can't really do the 'keep it up the jumper' but they're not able to get decent front foot ball to just throw it about.

Ireland just keep being better than Scotland

Scotland really need to up their game by Japan, don't want to let them have a sniff as a fired up home team could produce a result.

Larmour's been great.

Pack has outclassed their Scottish equivalents.

Murray looks to have got most of his mojo back, good to see.

Hard to tell how good this Ireland perf8rmance is because Scotland have been truely dire.

Great to see Ireland exceeding my expectations, with Murray improved. A lot more energy than they showed at the 6N. Fingers crossed they are being overprotective of Sexton.

Scotland barely merit a mention. Forced into the same tactical straightjacket that saw them get pumped in the first half at Twickenham. I hope Finn speaks his mind to Toonie in the dressing room as he did in that game. As toothless as I feared.

I guess the "this is Scotland's year" notes can be filed away again until the next 6 Nations

I recall reading 6 years ago the Scottish RFU Chief executive targeted this RWC as the one they would win. Lol.

Also gutted for Watson and hope that's not his tournament over. Russell doing well, they're not far off but need to be more clinical. Biggest problem is the D and turning over ball.

Ireland just clinical with forward play, plus the odd break from backs on turnovers. Sexton hasn't had to do much yet so hard to see his form, Murray better. Bodes well for their tournament though, but I guess they are the #1 team after all.

Don't think Ireland will let Scotland off the hook the way England did. England have history of letting teams back into a game Ireland far less so.
