I'm just glad that the kick was fielded by Ford, with Faz and Daly back with him. Had it been Brown in any of those positions then I fear he would have taken the ball into contact and lost the opportunity

Definitely! Brown has lost some mojo recently, in my eyes. Couple of years ago he came storming onto the scene.... now.... mmmmm I dunno!

Not sure which Welsh people you're directing your comment at? My comments would have been the same if Scotland and France game had ended the same way. No moral victory claimed, just commenting on the end of a great game. And I just happen to be Welsh, for which I duly apologise!

I don't think Youngs was offside. Jiffy yelled about it, but on the replay, and as BCM suggested, he looked fine.

Thought it was ok the first time I watched it but saw it again and Launchbury dives on the ball on the ground, then Liam Williams goes off his feet and on his knees manages to wrest the ball from Launchbury..

How is that legal and how has it not been commented on? So the implicit logic going on here is about how the kick was the only difference between winning and losing for Wales but England were in a very good position before the turnover....then Liam Williams commits what looks to be a professional foul which would be a yellow card and a penalty? Am I missing something?

Indeed. I suppose my point is re. the idea that Wales were hard-done by or deserved to win or that only the kick prevented Wales winning. England had a good chance at a score if that ball isn't turned over illegally, so I don't think there's much justification to feel quite so robbed as it were

Yeh, I'm just adding extra factors for the few (VC) resisting the idea that England were deserved winners, and also in general just speculating how no-one has even TALKED about that turnover.

However you choose to phrase it, TJB is right. The ABs regularly kill games in 15 or 20 minute spells, far too often for it to be coincidence. That's what makes them so dangerous, Eng certainly need to learn the art of sealing games much earlier when the opportunities arise.

But so would Youngs have been penalised - that's all 50/50 and refs decisions etc. Swings and roundabouts.
Ah that old cherry again. My point was they almost DID lose! Just that last 5 minutes!

All day, every day. Ball is in the hands and off the deck (so out), and Youngs is behind the last foot, if you follow the line of the grass cuts. His line speed is what made Jiffy shout offside for 10 minutes.
