The RLWC is a joke, that's a fact
Highest ever average crowds and revenue in 2013, so not as much of a joke as you think. Would be wise to do a bit of research before dismissing something because you don't like it.

What are you talking about? They had record attendances and record TV viewings last year.
Me too, he's going to waste his time in USA. What the hell has on his head? His best chance is the RWC. It's the third most important sport event. F*cking asshole
I've seen some games and most of the stadiums were empty. I think the grand final was the only stadium sold out. Perhaps the previous record was very very low, because I was impressed by the few people in the stadiums.
The RLWC can't survive outside Australia or England, even in New Zealand wouldn't succeed. A tournament with only two viable places isn't attractive to sponsors.

The fact that every team aside from Australia, England, and NZ are full of players who aren't even from their nations.
His best chance to what?
Not sure how he's a f*cking asshole. There was something he's always wanted to do and he's giving up a lot to try and to do it. The audacity..
To be more famous around the world and earn more money. Sonny Bill Williams has 391,679 followers in Twitter, Jarryd has 90,991.
He will lose his time in USA while in Union he would have a great chance to become a superstar as Folau or SBW.
Here in South America Sonny Bill Williams is well-known, even by people who isn't part of world rugby, while Jarryd is a complete unknown, only a few crazy rugby supporters (Like me) know him.
The next WC will be the biggest in history, Jarryd could be more famous than SBW
Who's to say he'd be good enough at rugby union to get in the Wallabies team?
And if you take off in the NFL, you take off. And I REALLY hope that he does.
TBF the RLWC tv ratings might have been records - but let's compare them to the 6N.
England's SF vs the Kiwis got 2.3m peak viewers.
The highest peak of the 2013 6nations was the Eng/Wales game which drew 9.4m peak viewers.
The lowest was the Fra/Ita game which drew 4m peak viewers.
If you look at BBC1/2's ratings anything that is shown on a sat/sun is guaranteed to get at least 2 million viewers.
Maybe he doesn't care about fame or fortune and just wants to chase his dream? If you had a chance at a life long dream, would you let it slip?
I'm a rugby supporter and I think he should do what he wants and what makes him happy. He obviously really wants this, as TRF_Saints says above, it's been a long time coming and he's had interest from the NFL.That's what I'm saying. He seems to me an idiot for wanting to go to the NFL, maybe because I'm a rugby supporter.
The Superb Owl eclipses the RWC.For me, the RWC is bigger than the NFL, and I'm not talking about money.
If you look at just the money, I'm sorry there is no comparison. Aaron Rodgers makes $22,000,000, i know that is unlikely to happen to Hayne but still compared to Wilkinson who was on $916,800 a year. If he plays as a running back (and is successful) he could make $5,000,000 +That's what I'm saying. He seems to me an idiot for wanting to go to the NFL, maybe because I'm a rugby supporter. I like the NFL too, I have several posts in the thread of this forum and this year is my second participation in NFL Fantasy, but rugby is the most beautiful sport of all

I'm an NFL follower, obviously I know the NFL salaries. My point is: For him it would be easier to become a Rugby Union star than an NFL star. At best, he would get a contract with a small team, or he would be a second option on a big team. I don't see him in the Top 10 of the best WR. American football is a very specific sport, each player has a specific function so it's difficult to stand out if you don't have years of playing the sport. He will never get the salary of Calvin Johnson, but he could get a salary similar to the Wilkinson's salary in Union, plus more advertising contracts than League
