Rugby '15 announced

I emailed Bigben's Head of Marketing last night, asking when new information will be made avaliable. This morning, I got an email back. Apparently, it'll be within three weeks, as well as during E3, and the hope to show screenshots/video at/by E3.

Also, their head of marketing accidentally let something slip to me that wasn't in the press release with regards to licensing. Not sure whether I should share it for professional reasons, though mostly I just want to be a tease.

Oh, it's good news. It's a new license. I want to say, but seeing as I seeked out their marketing lady's own email address (I was involved in video games media for a number of years and still have a number of ties and tricks), I wonder whether it's right. Regardless, she told me when she probably shouldn't, so...

She also said the licenses are 'Exclusive', so I'd presume they've bought them off Sidhe, which is interesting, and likely puts a dampener on any hopes of a Rugby Challenge 3.

Fascinating... I wonder if that's a good sign for us SH fans then?

Sidhe did say they weren't looking at next gen for a while.

Tell us! And then remove any trace of you contacting the head of marketing ;)

Let's swerve off topic for a moment. I'm really not going to talk about the license any further. I'm done talking about that. So, totally on a different topic, just a different train of thought: I always felt this was a really good logo.

I've also always liked the E3 logo, makes me remember it's not far away and that we're going to hear more about the game then, hopefully we'll see some more lovely logos then.

Dunc, do you know whether or not the fact that the Pro12 is changing sponsor has an effect on securing it's license?

I wondered this myself. I've heard nothing on the Pro12, but that may well be the reason. Seeing as they've bought the other European licenses off Sidhe, I'd be very surprised if they didn't have hold of the Pro12 as well, but they have to hold off announcing anything until the sponsor's sorted.

We are to apparently expect the game in late September/early October, so the season will have started by then and the league's name will be finalised. Sony/Microsoft normally ask for final code just under two months in advance of launch, so they'll have time for cosmetic changes, regardless of when it's made. I'd be very surprised if we didn't see the Pro12 licensed.

Hopefully they get it, from my point of view the three European leagues is all I need for a career mode with a lot of longevity. If they do it right.

You could make a Wales team out of the players in the French and English Leagues plus i hope they get the new European competitions licensed
