Rugby '15 announced

The restrictions were licensed imposed. I wouldn't be surprised to see them in R15 too.

I'm just thinking about the licensing part.

Maybe someone from Sidhe could give us some light on the subject. They after all had the license for most of the leagues for RC and RC2. did they keep those licenses? is it available for other studios like HB to buy it from them, or are they even going to make RC3 on next-gen?

We don't know that the Top14/Pro D2 licenses were exclusive- For instance, both USA were licensed in both RC and RWC2011. It's possible we could have two games with the licenses, or that it's a year-by-year process, rather than a four-year one (As, for instance, the RFU, WRU and SARU signed with HB).

I want a full-on manager mode where you have the option to change team and develop a varied career with multiple sides. Perhaps motivate us by having a trophy screen where we can see, for instance, we've won two Pro12 ***les with one team, a SuperRugby ***le with another but no international trophies, and we can do a Warren Gatland and go chasing them all. It can't be that hard to make, it's certainly less ambitious than many other requests on this thread. A working transfer market would be handy, too.

I gotta confess I haven't a clue about licensing restribtions and how they work; for whatever reason, licensing stopped sidhe from implementing a proper career mode. Instead of buying players on a budget, you simply swapped them at will for someone in your squad you didn't want. Ridiculous.

And I don't get it because for its time, rugby 08 had a pretty decent stab at career mode....

I joined the HB forum to see what was going on there and nothing.....

1 post and no other HB info.

So is this game really happening in the autumn when there is no info about it and no publicity?

Understandable there being some potential doubt. I've felt that way myself, until I see more I'm not 100% sure anything is happening.

I didn't even know HB had forums. Went to HB's site and FB and didn't found anything, only came up with them after a Google search. I think they're fresh open that's why they're empty.

Someone on the Rugby Challenge forums emailed Bigben, and they told them the game was being built from the ground up (I'll believe that when I see it) and that it'll be out end of September/start of October.

Yeah I do know, hoping it isn't... Oddest licensing clause I've seen in a game, ruined the career mode and was ultimately the reason why I never ending up buying RC2. Do wonder if there's a way round it all, or at least for the game publisher to be more forceful about it? Couldn't help but feel Sidhe/TruBlue might have given too much leeway with it all, as it is essentially free advertising for the various leagues! Pure speculation from me here though, I can't say I was there at the negotiations, but as a disgruntled fan, can't help but be left wondering.

Those restrictions didn't stand in the way of modding, most mods don't have any restriction at all.

Hopefully this won't have ps1 graphics like the others all had. I don't know why every time hb studios release a rugby game, they look so terrible. In rwc they tried to fix it by simply zooming out and never showing the players faces lol. Why can't they just get people who know how to make them look good like Rugby Challenge.

Rugby Challenge has its flaws, but I think it has more potential and I still prefer it over hb studios one any day. I think Rugby Challenge should have explained more in the training part as well, about things like players running lines, set plays etc

I know I'll get the game, after buying RWC, the Rugby challenges, Jonah Lomu and all EA games it's safe to say I'm a sucker.

Yup, same here.

I think the rugby community has been a bit deprived of games, and after Rugby 08, there hasn't been anything worth while that has kept me in front of my tv. I had both RWC2011 and RC1 & 2, but they didn't make me want to play for hours on end. It was more a source of frustration than anything else.

I'd love to see a cel-shaded rugby game with relatively decent cartoonish likenesses, a bit akin to the FIFAs on Wii. I say this because RWC11 was two thirds of the way towards this anyway, but less as a stylistic choice and more through the lack of detail, and kinda liked the direction in which they were headed.

Guys I made a thread on hb studios forum in the general section. I would appreciate if u could register. It is basically begging for some more info on game and wat I would like to see. Say wat u would like to see also even for future games. This could be the first place they put info. Who knows?? Thanks.

I also have commented on that thread. I just copied and pasted my original post from this forum over to that forum.
