China raises US tariffs to 125% as Xi invites EU to team up against Trump ‘bullying’
Chinese leader canvasses Spain and other trading partners on how to tackle economic fallout as market turmoil continues
I laughed. Good one.
We should split this thread into US versus rest of the world. I have a lot of topics I want to discuss with Brits, but it gets bogged down in US culture-war stuff that very few people here care about.
Like, why are Jews rapidly leaving the UK? Why is antisemitism growing every year?
Jews are the most successful immigrant population and they are leaving for Israel and the US.
Does anyone here know how to discuss a topic without looking back? What the hell does that 1939 have to do with 2025? We put Japanese Americans in internment camps under FDR. That hasn't stopped millions of Japanese people from relocating here since the end of WWII. The most popular car in America is the Toyota Camry. Most of the people involved in the decision-making in 1939 are dead. Let them stay dead. Stop bringing up the past and act like it has any relation with the present. It doesn't.Also not forgetting the US turned away 900 Jews in 1939, later 250 of those were killed by the Nazi's

Why the yen? That's Japanese. The euro would make far more sense.Maybe the question should be - how does China most effectively win a trade war with the USA?
You'd imagine seeing the yen replacing the dollar as the main currency of international trade would rank fairly high up there?
Trump was on about Zelensky playing cards. Well now the orange dumb **** has bet the house when he's holding a 2 of clubs and 7 of diamonds.

Is the Campaign Against Antisemitism a good source for you?

Or that the 2nd amendment of what 1791? Takes priority over kids dying in mass shootings
Now tell me the past has no relation to the present.
Can't read it. It's behind a fire wallThis is from October -
Religious hate crimes hit a record high in England and Wales in the year to March, as offences against Jewish people and Muslims surged in the wake of the Israel-Hamas war.
Some 10,484 religious hate crimes were reported in 2023-24, according to Home Office data published on Thursday. This represented a rise of 25 per cent from 8,370 incidents the previous year and the highest level since records began in 2012.
The increase in offences was driven by attacks targeting Jewish people, which more than doubled to 3,282 incidents over the period, while the number of incidents against Muslims jumped 13 per cent to 3,866.
Pot kettle. Seems like ya'll have the same problem.Religious hate crimes hit a record high in England and Wales in the year to March, as offences against Jewish people and Muslims surged in the wake of the Israel-Hamas war.
Sounds like y'all have a problem today, not 1939, 1791, or 1798.

You posted an article with zero evidence except the words of a mentally compromised figurehead. Where are the stats? Joe Biden said he was sharp as a tack. Do you believe that as well? I mean, come on @Saintjay, I know it's Friday, but hitting the pub this early is a little much eh?
