As an ex-archaeologist, my friends who still work in the sector think the tunnel is a mental idea.

The delays are going to go through the roof with all the material undiscovered in the area.

As someone who has been delayed massively over the years due to some ******* rocks. I fully get this the transport infrastructure there needs badly updating. But reality is the money need to be spent making the A303 a dual carriage way all.the way to Exeter and this is an investment needed since the 80's.

Admittedly the rubber necking and traffic has been slightly relived since they close the access road that was in the right hand side when travelling Westward forcing people to use Long Barrow roundabout.

We have no integrated transport and climate policies with this government. Spending 1.6 billion on a dual carriageway is a joke. Try spending that on mending existing roads with their numerous potholes and building proper protected cycle lanes instead IMO.

Yeh around where I live they just measure the potholes to see if they are deep and wide enough to justify mending. What a joke!

Quite a turn from what was said previously by the bank. I haven't read through the dossier but, assuming the summary provided is correct, what Farage has said has not been so extreme as to merit being kicked out of holding a bank account with a company. It's weird ground legally though, if you enforce free speech, the flip side is potentially also enforcing that companies have freedom to deny services under those same protections, at least depending on how the law views companies ability to choose who they associate with against free speech laws.

A country with absolute freedom to say what you want and associate with who you want is also one where people and companies can exercise that right against others who exercise it in a way they don't like.

Much as a despise Farage, this does seem shaky ground. I'm really not sure what the legal position is on having a right to obtain a certain service in this country and whether a bank account would count.

Wasn't this covered in Irish Gay Cake gate. A business doesn't have the right to deny a service they are offering based on their own political or religious views.

To take it to the extreme, that would mean a business couldn't refuse to work with a self-proclaimed Nazi. I'm pretty sure there is a point somewhere in which it is accepted a business can deny service to someone based on their views but I'm not sure where that line is.
