Your Lions Squad Following the 6N

As per every 'XV' you have to have a separate team for the amateur era.
Viet Gwent would be the front row of course. Ruggedly handsome.

what the hell is going on... Just clicked on to this read the last two pages and am now without previously knowing a raging homosexual...

I jest

I'm sorry, I've mentioned this in that other large Lions thread but:
am I the only one who thinks Australia is going to suffer the very Passion of the Christ (just a jk !) in the scrum for all 3 tests ?

EDIT: I mean they get f***ed in France, even a monster penalty try awarded; and that's just one national side in France. Here, the Lions have a handpicked unit...from 4 excellent-to-strong nations.

Unless the Ozzies have considerably improved in that department, they're in for one penalty try minimum conceded per match here...plus other penalties throughout the 80min. There's no way they can win more than a match if all this is true.

The only hope the Aussies have is that Poite or someone who can't ref a scrum(there are many) takes control.
With Pocock out the Lions will look to ravage the breakdown. Hooper is good, but not as scrappy or brutal as David. I mean that as the highest compliment for a flanker.

I don't think you will manage to find a tighthead prop. All the eligible ones are crap.

This is all true.

^ hmmmm....I have a feeling we'll be pleasantly surprised, but still they won't get an Adam Jones/Jenkins duo overnight, and with Pocock out...I can't see them winning more than 1 maximum.

Friend showed that to me today, seems they watched maybe a week or two of the 6N here or there. Not from Deans and co. though thats from Green and Gold rugby quite possible the most Bias rugby site i've ever seen.

Forgot to mention nowhere what I might pick.

Is he developing some complex about the Scottish for having lost to them at home or smt ?!
- say Robbie, you left out an entire side's players there...what about the Sco....
- NO NO !! It's all there !!...It's all there !!...

Hello to everyone. I write on here before but it didnt appear on here. So I will do again.

Im new to the rugby, started watching before 6nations. Just need some help understanding haha! :)

But I did chose my lion team before so I will do it again here:

1. Genthin Jenkins - saw a try by him in 2005. Ronan gara kicked the ball but genthin hit it down and kicks the ball to the try area. He then scores 5 points for his team. Maybe he can do this again against aus?
2. Phil Vickery - My chosen captain too. He was in the front for England for the world cup win, 2003. Over 19+ stone! Wow, very heavy guy. He will be to strong for most people.
3. adam jones - everyone says adam jones. So i think I do not have enough knowledge right now to say anyone else. so adam jones.
4. Alan wyn jones - Combs was playing super rugby for his country, when I saw him. Alan was very good to replace him. Combs is one of the best i think.
5. Hamilton - Not many scotland ones for me. But he does well. Not sure what he has to do though, but the beard is fine! :D
6. Ryan jones - from what i see in rugby, everyone in wales is jones haha. This jones has good running for his team.
7. Rob Shaw - think rob has impressed many of the people in england. Nearly had sam instead of Rob, but sam throws a French guy (yes french haha) on his head in the world cup. What if he does this again?
8. don't know many of them in this postion. Anyone know much? Parise was one that I heard, but he is not from the british area. Great guy though.
9. Connor Murrey - said it before, but i will say it one more time- what a guy!! Very tall and fast. Never seen someone play like him yet.
10. Greg Lailaw - not his poisition i don't think but has he played here before? He might be a good one. All the kicks he did in the 6n, gave scotland team lots of points.
11. Mark Cuteo - going to post the vid again. Purely picking this guy because of how much trys he has done:

Shame he hasnt got it given, and shame the lions dont play south africa. The person who speaks says cuteo always has trys against south africa! So maybe the lion should play south africa instead. Will it be too late to change?

12. Jamie Roberts - Throws people out of his way, so maybe he can do this to the wallaby.
13. Brian Driscoll - Heard so much from this guy! Wow, just wow. Can't believe what I see on the rugby field :D I wish all the players were like this guy!
14. AShton, definitely ashton! - scores 19 trys, never has failed in the england shirt. Hope we can see him jumping in the air for his try against aus!
15. Goode - plays well all 6n. His name is a great adjective for this guy - GOOD. Maybe he was my man of the 6n.

Bench (think you can have 8 on the bench?) - Halfpenny, Mike Brown, Brien, Cuthbert, Care, Ben Young, Combs, Jonny wilkinson

Hope everyone has fun looking at my team! Say what you think! Have I got it right? Thank you for helping me learn :D

If this is a serious post, I love the enthusiasm ;)

Where to begin?
Gethin Jenkins has a very good chance of touring, and would certainly be in many people first choice teams. However, he wont be picked because of a charge down try he scored 8 years ago, but because he's a good scrummager and excellent in the loose play. However that 2005 try is still one of me favourite rugby moments as a Welsh fan :D also I believe that the majority (including myself) would currently pick Cian Healy as first choice in that position.

Phil Vickery has been retired from rugby for a while I'm afraid, and also didn't play Hooker (number 2), but actually played tighthead prop (number 3). Most people's choices are between Richard Hibbard from Wales or Rory Best from Ireland for 1st choice hooker.

Good choice on Adam, very important player for Wales and has been for the Lions in the past! Hoping he can do it again, though Dan Cole isn't far behind him either, and offers a different style of play.

I like your second row choices a lot, although Hamilton can occasionally give away silly penalties, but offers a lot of grunt.

Back row - first off his name isn;t Rob Shaw, it's Chris Robshaw. Lot of competition for these spots with such quality like O'Brien, Warburton, Tipuric, Jones, Robshaw and Tom Wood all having excellent tournaments. Also there's injured players like Dan Lydiate and Stephen Ferris who might be fit enough to be considered too!
With no.8, you're right in that Parisse is Italian so can't play for the Lions. Current favourite seems to be Toby Faletau of Wales, but there's also Johnnie Beattie, Ben Morgan and Jamie Heaslip around too.

9. - If you think, Connor Murray is good, check out Mike Phillips ;) for me Murray is a worse version of Phillips, though our Mike is far from perfect, seems to be the best we've got at the moment. However Laidlaw will have something to say about that!
10. Laidlaw hopefully wont start at 10. I'm a big fan of his, but he's not a good tackler from 10, and is a much better at 9. Johnny Sexton should start if fit, with Dan Biggar and Owen Farrell touring with him.

I like that centre partnership, worked 4 years ago, here's hoping it will work again!

That back 3 is terrible I'm afraid to say. Cueto does still play for his club (as far as I know) but doesn't play internationally anymore, and simply isn't good enough for this Lions tour. Ashton mike have an impressive try scoring record from previous seasons, but he's playing terribly at the moment! Seems to have lost his ability to tackle too, see Fofana's try vs England and George North battering him aside with ease in the Wales vs England game. Front runners for the wingers are George North, Tim Visser, Alex Cuthbert, Craig Gilroy, Tommy Bowe (if fit)

Good is alright, had a good 6 Nations, but was utterly outplayed by the 6 Nations man of the tournament Leigh Halfpenny, who was solid under everything kicked at him, tackled his heart out and kicked everything in sight for a massive points haul. Stuart Hogg also has a chance to compete, and I'm sure many Irish fans have faith Rob Kearney will re find his form in time!

Also your bench is very unbalanced with too many backs! Standard benches will have 2 Props, 1 Hooker, 1 Second Row, 1 Back Row, 1 Scrum Half, 1 Fly Half and 1 Outside back (anyone between 11 and 15)

Thingimubob, I first shall thank you for all of this information you have given to me. I will learn so much from this writing :D

I saw the guy Healy, but I watch a game where he gets a yellow card for something (I have no idea what he did though haha). Does the yellow mean he will not have a chance at the lions?

And with Vickery, very sorry and sad when I heard he can not play anymore :( What a good number 2. Did NOT know he can play for 3 as well!! Great skill for him.

Ah, it is CHRIS Rob Shaw? Has he had a middle name of rob before? Sorry I have never been a good one with all these names haha.

Hmmm, yes Mike Phillips was another guy on my mind. I just thought he has not played enough game for his country right now. Perhaps Murrey is taller than him. I need a tall guy in this position for me. Anyone to short will not do.

But Ashton has everyone attention from over the world. Some great trys for that guy, a large inspiration. I will still pick him.

But I thank you Thingimubob for everything. A good reply to me!
