hey, thought it would be cool at a time when int'l ball is dead. ***le suggests a XV based on year-round form, but surely fresh memories of the latest EOYT will influence our picks.

Mine would go like:

1 - Thomas Domingo
2 - Rory Best
3 - Adam Jones
4 - AWJ
5 - Paul O'Connell
6 - Dusautoir
7 - Sean O'Brien
8 - Louis Picamoles
9 - Craig Laidlaw
10 - Jonny Sexton
11 - Sean Lamont
12 - Fofana
13 - Jamie Roberts
14 - George North
15 - Mike Brown

Not an Italian makes the list honestly, not even Parisse with Picamoles alive. I just realized I only included one Englishman, sorry about that, let's put Kearney in stead :D
I'm sure we could include Twelvetrees or one of those red and white locks in there, but I'm going for a more seasoned, experienced XV. I'm sure some would pick Corbisiero at 1, but we've barely seen him this year and Domingo has done some destructive work in the scrum.

A challenger appears;

1 Tendai Mtawarira
2 Bismarck du Plessis
3 Juan Figallo
4 Brodie Retallick
5 Sam Whitelock
6 Willem Alberts
7 Michael Hooper
8 Keiran Read

9 Fourie du Preez
10 Dan Carter

11 Bryan Habana
12 Jean de Villiers
13 Conrad Smith
14 Israel Folau
15 Ben Smith

Leigh Halfpenny?

One player isn't enough - he might struggle to contain the opposition.

Big Ewis I agree about Domingo - the northern hem guys like myself on this thread normally overlook him when we have our Healy vs Corbisiero vs jenkins dance-off, but Domingo is an immense scrummager and does most things I personally want from a loose-head - I think I remember Adam Jones saying Domingo was the toughest scrummager he has faced.

I'd put a question mark over Adam Jones.
Scrummaging is still good, but his work rate has nose dived this year - not sure if he's been carrying an injury, but he looks even more lethargic around the pitch than usual.
Could make a strong case for Mas, who had a great November in my opinion.

I like your picks for 14 and 15 a lot. They're gutsy. Brice Dulin has been near perfect this EOYT but still is too young. Surely HP would get the nod here, but I like Kearney over Halfpenny. My XV already has a good kicker in Sexton, so HP is virtually useless. I exaggerate of course. But speaking of a strong November, Mike Brown does what a 15 should do for me: be a true threat with ball in hand, and should not be different from a winger or center when it comes to attacking with speed and footwork. And he's got great nervous energy, he's full of electricity and quick-mindedness. Kearney is better under the high ball though...

And Huget offers smt rare for a french winger: strength and resistance to tackling, while being versatile and good footspeed too.

And hey, just start a thread with a 4N XV.

lol :D you fkr !
And ah really, didn't know that about Adam Jones ! Very interesting...do you agree with the rest though ? By the way, the absence of red and white players should totally go as a compliment for the English reading my XV. It means that with less talent on paper, England still manage to be 3rd or 4th world wide and officially "the best in the NH".

I'd put a question mark over Adam Jones.

Good point. And yes, his work rate has in deed dropped and he's less mobile and active as I've seen him, even 2011 RWC time. But I've never seen anyone get the upper hand in a scrum against him, he's simply the strongest pusher in the world.
Mas had his issues in the Tonga game, where he missed a few tackles and got criticized for it, though Forestier got the worst of that story. But he's a terrific scrummager, he can help in the rucks and can defend (barring that Tonga thing).

You can't find room for someone like warburton , wood or Launchbury but you can find space for 4 Frenchmen who got the wooden spoon in the 6N ?

Sounds crazy as a box of frogs ;)

I'm still a bit lost how you picked sexton over michalak !! :p

Agreed. Dan Cole's Stakhanovite work ethic came into great use when up against Adam this year. Perhaps it would have been 50 otherwise?

Seriously though, making a case for Nicolas Mas whilst talking about work in the loose is an odd argument considering he missed virtually as many tackles as he made this November. Great scrummager though, so there is a good argument in that regard.

1 - Healy
2-Hibbard
3- Mas
4-Parling
5-Ian evans
6-Lydiate
7-Sob
8-Picamoles
9-parra
10-Sexton
11-Huget
12-Fofana (Darcy on current form deserves a shout though)
13-Gael Fickou (Not even sure he's fit or on form but he's an incredible talent.
14-North
15-Brown

1. Corbisero
2. Hibbard
3. Martin Castrogiovani
4. Richie Gray
5. Paul O'Connell
6. Thierry Dusautoir

9. Conor Murray
10. Johnny sexton
11. George North
12. Twelvetrees
13. Jamie Roberts
14. Alex Cuthbert

01 Domingo / Healy (if Corbs wasn't injured for most of the year, I'd have picked him)
02 Hibbard
03 Adam Jones
04 Alun-Wyn Jones (not at his best during the AI's, but was good during the 6N, and huge on the Lions tour)
05 Parling
06 Dusautoir
07 SOB
08 Faletau / Picamoles
09 no idea, Murray, Parra and Laidlaw have impressed in parts, but no-one has been exceptional imo.
10 Sexton
11 North
12 Fofana
13 Davies
14 Cuthbert
15 Halfpenny

I thought Huget was the best 15 in last seasons 6 nations. Other 15s were good but he was outstanding.
