xusky's Rugby Faces

Gee, this patch is absolutely awesome, it really is a SUPER patch!

Just a few things, though, that I noticed while playing the first couple of matches. I installed your patch over Uli's MUP, and a few things got messed up (ie. flags and supporters' boards are still those from French Top14, as are tv screens, a few wrong faces ecc). Should I re-install your files in an empty folder or you have some integration of Super14 flags and things?
For what concerns the faces, as I already said in some other thread, it would be really helpful to have a list of all new faces with names, filenames and ID numbers, because if you tweak some stats with the editor things may get messed up quite easily and with such a list, one could quickly restore right faces. For example, the first couple of faces I noticed are Johnny Leota (has someone's white face - might have to do with interference with MUP files), Dwayne Sweeney (has David Lemi's face, so either the ID is wrong or there's a file missing), Tanerau Latimer (has Brendon Leonard face, but again may be MUP interference).

Sorry for being picky right from the start, it's just a feedback, no criticism at all. Take your time, you really earned a rest.

I was stunned to see so many new faces, you were keeping them secret, eh eh eh.
Great work, awesome patch![/b]

You have to copy these files of the Super Patch to a clean Rugby 08 main folder and not to one where you have a MUP or any other patches installed. You can do this by copying the folder of where you installed Rugby 08 and pasting it in another location, then select all the files that you put in there from the MUP and delete them(all the .big, .fsh, .xml, .rsg files ect...),only files that should remain is the rugby08.exe,rugby.ico files and all the other folders. Then copy all the files from the Super Patch and paste them in the main folder of your new clean rugby 08 location and start the game from the rugby08.exe in that folder.By doing this you won't have patches overriding each other and you can have multiple patch on your pc at once like the Super Patch, MUP,SANZAR Patch ect...only bad-ish thing is that it takes up space on your pc's hard drive.
Hope this helps.

SUPERPATCH 09 RELEASE
Added Filefront Links to Page 1.

*Any feedback of errors and trouble you are having please post here.*

Thankyou :D

Thanks, Jdv, I thought that the Superpatch needed files from MUP to work, but that wasn't the case, obviously.
Now everything seems to be ok. The only thing I noticed is Dwayne Sweeney's face which still shows Lemi. Face ID number is 23869 which also is the player's ID, so it should be correct. Maybe the file is missing or has a wrong filename.

I have a couple of suggestions for faces in-game.
I use Dan Ward-Smith's 41217 face for Josh Bekhuis as he usually wears a grey headgear, and Ben Herring's 19949 for Craig Clarke as they have similar beard and hair. But I think it's just a matter of preference.

Last thing is about PlaceHolders in the Chiefs' squad: one could be replaced by Ole Avei (already in roster and part of the 2009 Chiefs' team, though I don't think he has played a match) and the other with Tim Mikkleson (has played a couple of matches from the bench I think) or David Bason (used as cover for the injuried Leonard).

Xusky you can just use my latest roster to update the Chiefs and other squads that have those place holders in them.

OK I can't use the patch at the moment, could it be because I'm using R06? I assumed it would work for both, like most of the hacks do.

I will have to edit all the boots and undergarments again and assign some of the new faces I added, it may take a while. Also Ross the with the World League, I added 2 more faces to the Roster after you had made the .rdf file, will this cause it to crash? I made Both Victor Matfeild and Matt Giteau have 2 separate files for the 2 different types of Headgear, International and Super14.

Sorry to tell you but it is specifically for Rugby08 as most of the front end files for 06 are different. I will be making a facepack shortly with all the faces I have included in Superpatch 09 which you will be able to use for 06.

Nooooooooooooooo!!!

Oh well, I'll just have to deal.

Well done Xusky, sounds like a great patch :) Congrats.

Xusky, your patch is the best thing to happen to this game since its first release. Everyone who plays it should give you a reputation point everytime they play with it. I just played my first S14 match with it and had a blast. However when i went to go back to tourny central after the game it crashed. Will the new stuff you added fix that? i only ask because I am near my max gb for the month as I downloaded this MUP, Rosters 08, Adobe PH Shop CS4 and Adobe Elements 7 all in this month. Can you tell me if maybe I might have put something in the wrong file and that cuased the crash? Or like i said is it something you have already fixed with the new file. Also do I have to use the patch profile to make it work? I used my own profile, might this be why it crashed? Please let me know what you think. I still think its top notch and you and Ross should be in a dead heat for Modder of 2009!

Scrumit2, try downloading the Superpatch 09 Profile and loading it before starting a Season, its very small in size and may help. Are you choosing random or 2007? You have to Choose 2007 as your season fixtures to play the 2009 fixtures.

again... nice work, but there are just a couple of things i noticed, 1- the Blues auckland blues away kit has the blue shorts, i think someone made these and then realised that it was meant to have white shorts and made those aswell... it should just be lying around and apart from that i just have some reccoemendations for face ids... you might disagree but... tamati ellison to me looks allot like 41088 and zac guildford looks a bit like 10816... thanks again for all your effort

Nice spotting man cheers. The faces are a good find too and they do look better than the assigned ones. Please list any others you find this helps for future releases so keep them coming.

Not entirley sure but you need to maybe edit the file 063a3339c0f8014207a11d31c1634eb5.csv . This is the only file I am aware of that contains stuff about the gamepads. You will have to extract it from the data.gob.

Hey guys, I am making a TV Logos pack for the Superpatch 09, it basically just gives you the choice of logo that crosses the screen during the game, nothing major. Fa'atau made one a while back which I thought was cool idea.
Anyway, since I live in Australia atm I am only fimilar with the TV logos used over here and NZ eg: FOXSports 1 2 and 3. I just want to know which other logos I should include. I have made 'The Rugby Channel' from Sky NZ, and also the new Sky Sports logo from NZ. What are some of the other countries TV logos that are specifically related to rugby. Any input would be helpul.

Xusky, I had downloaded the super patch profile but when I loaded a profile I loaded my personal one and thats what caused the crash. Is it possible for you to reload a super patch profile with blank stats? if not no worries its just that with the super patch profile we are forced to better your efforts i.e. 3 drop goals in a game for it to register our own efforts. Like i said if its not possible i could care less because youve created a new game which is still a blast to play even if your personnal bests arent recorded.

thanks for all your efforts!
