World Rugby u20 Championship

Watching the U20's this year my players who I would back to make it currently. (not counting Smith, Curry, Painter, Ibitoye as already made it IMO should include Grayson in that as well).

What do you consider as making it? If you just mean they could be regular Prem players then surely Olowofela too, and maybe Kpoku (don't forget that he's only 18).

The gap closes quite drastically between u20 and senior though. Look at the other 6n teams in this and compare to the seniors, especially Ireland. New Zealand continue to dominate at senior level but we get caught up.

Forgot Olowofela.

mmm not sold on Kpoku, still has a long way to go. Maybe next year U20's he will look more up to it.

Relegation?
So one of Ireland/Scotland won't be in next year's?

No. I think the loser of each semi plays off. So only one of Ireland, Scotland, Japan or Georgia will be gone.

France were awesome against SA. They're comfortably the best side in the tournament imo.

Comfortably the best? I wouldn't say that. They were good against SA but their previous 2 games weren't hugely impressive. They leak almost as many tries as they score. England and New Zealand both score far more than they concede. France could win it but I would not say they are comfortably the best by a long shot.

Yup, and France's discipline is their biggest problem, had the referee been more strict last night France could've ended up with a lot more yellow cards than just the one they got.

And the trick is that their opponents need to run them tired as much as possible, their big guys were great the first 30 minutes, and then they started huffing and puffing and were very slow to lineout and there was so many guys cramping up...

I feel like our u20 is badly coached, maybe this isn't the best crop we've ever had but I feel like there are a lot of people getting underutilized.
Anyway I can't really see us leaving the semis, that's alright there's anyways another year of youngsters. One or two of them are promising anyway.

I don't think it's so much the coaching. The crop we got this year isn't of such a standard to write home about and the best of them all is on crutches. The only 3 guys that has impressed me are Tyrone Greene, Wandisile Simelane and Zak Burger.

The forwards have been really disappointing for me. Muller Uys is big and strong, but goes to ground very easily and is a poor tackler. Our captain Moerat is not a good lineout jumper, and the opposition reads him way too easily. Our flankers are anonymous.

Yeah that's fair, those three have been standouts for me as well, although I might add that big tighthead Sazi, seems like a strong ball carrier and good scrummager.

he kakked in the scrums last night. And he gives away too many penalties at the rucks for falling over. But yeah, of all the forwards he's been the better of the lot.

I'll come clean with you, I stopped watching at 36-7 haha.
