Sad times when England votes Ireland and not the Welsh and Scottish.
It was a weird process beginning to prefer England to Wales, with Scotland it'll be tough. Huge amount of thanks for carrying a league with their club sides, Tommy Bowe, choking in a RWC quarter final and letting them win in Murrayfield this year... The RFU and IRFU have always been tight to be fair.

so usa 2027?

USA + Canada joint bid?

Canada is a much, much more outwardly, international friendly society than the States. Adding matches in Vancouver and Toronto would really aid a North American rugby World Cup. I also think that matches in Canada are better attended than matches in the states currently.

I also think that Agentina might bid 2027 as well. Tough to look past them to North America.

when would the bid be for 2027... cause i could see non-rugby factors being a huge influence on whether or not we host

vancouver and toronto should be included in the bid with the USA (i would like to see Montreal as well)

my only concern is we are a huge country and the travel would be quite expensive for fans... maybe have each pool in one specific area to make it easier

I think that if pools had a regional focus travel would be ok. Northeast, Midwest, Southwest, Northwest. Leave Southeast out. Does anyone play rugby in the South anyway?

France will host a great RWC. They may even have a decent team by then.

Taking the RWC to new countries is difficult. Going cross border instantly dilutes the competition although I'd make an exception for a Pacific Islands tournament!

Actual image of Scotland and Wales voting. New Zealand not pictured because England were nearby and they're doing their best to avoid them. England-Ireland joint bid where we flush the less desirable games down the toilet so Australia can have them is on. England have always had our backs. Can't think of a single issue we've had between us. Best of mates is since the beginning, Scotland and Wales were always trying to get between us.

Meh at least I'll be able to hit a few games in France.

Excellent! 5 years to sort out a camper van and brush up on my French.

The south of France in summer, nice cheese, nice wine, great seafood......Who am I kinding. Would have preferred fry ups and Guinness and a cheeky bit of sea fishing. How often can you give the other half a decent reason for going on the **** in Ireland for at least 4 weeks? Now its France she will want to come with me.

Japan: RWC 2019, Olympics 2020
France: RWC 2023, Olympics 2024

Given my education, I'm the first to dismiss conspiracy theories but the chances of that happening by accident are minuscule.

I just cannot believe this.

Would have preferred Ireland or South Africa to France but c'est le vie.

France parading Lomu's kids was distasteful and is what crossed them off my list.

This whole bid was quite stale to be honest. Let's hope for more exposure in new countries in the future and less of the buddy system in Europe. Canada/USA would be a fantastic host for the next one.

Lets hope SA can first clean up the political mess both outside and inside of SARU before it gets it again. The president has decimated the economy and I genuinely think the ANC banning international tournaments not too long ago would have put a few Unions off.

EDIT: Also now that we know that the Japanese didn't vote for us can we drop them from Super Rugby now please ?
