So France had 24 votes SA 15.

Ireland got zero....

Suggests England went France IMO.

my guess
NZ, Aus, Arg, Asia, Oceania, Africa all voted SA
Everyone else France.

Much like the Football, France getting big tournaments very soon after they last hosted them.

I'm sure France will host a fantastic world cup, hopefully I have the money to visit by then.

That said feels incredibly unfair that they got another one so soon, will it just be England and France every second year from now on, with the odd world cup going to somewhere the game can be "expanded".

Wow, that is a shocking result. My immediate reaction is that it due to the extra money France are guaranteeing $150m compared to $120m the others were willing to guarantee.

So 2019 Japan, 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Then 2023 France RWC; 2024 Paris Olympics.

Disappointed but hope France host a great World Cup that makes a load of money for World Rugby and helps the sport grow.

Decision not to award it to South Africa renders the recommendation process completely pointless.

Must say it was embarrasing in some ways the bid Ireland had
No it wasn't, it was deemed capable of hosting one of the world's biggest sporting events!

Wales went SA, Scots went France by the look of it. SA would have been preferable to France.

No it submitted stadia that hadn't got planning permission.

Had 3 key stadiums in too close a proximity which was noted.

Had said it had top transport system while there were on going strikes and an incomplete Luas system. I' not saying IRFU are the fault but they were absolutely ridiculed and got 0 votes. That says enough. Ireland suffered for it being centred around Dublin and the stadiums there being in close proximity.
We can say x y and z is rats but he'l we got 0 votes and that says enough

Gaelic World Cup the way forward for SCO, IRE and WALES. Then again id happily include Cardiff, Belfast and Edinburgh in another 'English World Cup'.

Well yes that'd work as the Stadiums are there and available
