Which players have played their last 6 nations?

12 - Stephen Jones - Crabbed towards the touchline for maybe the last time. Off to find a nice dark corner to preserve his tan.

Hardly a tan.

Speaking only of the Irish ones.

10 - ROG - The swinging gate has probably missed his last tackles in the tournament. Being picked behind a younger, better man. Come on ROG, time to step aside (imagine you were meant to tackle him

Just because he's been passed out doesn't mean he'll retire. He's Still one of the greatest tactical kickers in the world, if not number one. We've seen how brilliant he is to bring off the bench. And he's an incredibly competitive man and it is not time for him to step aside.

7 - David Wallace - Produced a big game against England after four mediocre showings, time may be catching up with the great man.

Great man indeed and nearly 35. Agree with you on this one. He might retire after the world cup.

9 - Peter Stringer - Wheeled out to kick the ball into touch against England. Probably the last outing for Verne Troyer's body double.

Probably...Murray and O'Leary have passed him out at Munster now. Been a great servant for Munster and Ireland though.

until other fly halves step up to show they are ready for international duty then i don't see why O'Gara will retire. he is highly competitive and he seems to be playing some very good rugby. he's never been very physical or quick so age hasn't been that apparent on the fella. however, we never know how Paddy Jackson etc will play next year but personally i think all other fly halves in Ireland at the moment are very raw. i'd say O'Gara has another Six Nations in him.

from an Irish perspective i'd like to see Paddy Wallace and Stringer to step aside.

Interview with BOD after England match - "I've got another 6N or two left in me."

Stringer has to stay for RWC, and I can't see a better backup for Reddan. His passing still steps up the pace of attack - add in ROG's kicking in the last 15 mins, and the enemy has to deal with a totally different plan from Ireland.

I know these are old guys, but they give Ireland alot of variety. Same will be said about Bowe, Sexton, O'Brien in five/ten years.

I wrote off Shane Williams before last year's 6N. Will not repeat mistake, especially when the sidestepper says he's going.

There are several reasons why people should not play another six nations, the main two are: 1) Age and 2) because they're ****

In the Age category we have: D Wallace, Shane Williams, Martyn Williams, Stringer, Simon Shaw

In the "****" category we have: Matt Banahan, Hugo Southwell, Yoann Huget

For France:

Yannick Jauzion is a goner for sure. Chabal, Marconnet and Servat as well.

Possibles/probables (will mainly depend on how we do at the WC):

Nallet, Traille, Rougerie, Bonnaire, Thion, Harinordoquy (hope not)

Steve Thompson, ROG, they'll all be back because there's no one sodding else. I wouldn't be surprised to see Stephen Jones back either. Or the RFU glibly saying St. J. of W. is different.

Dan Parks hopefully...

Who else? Nathan Hines maybe, possibly Paterson?

For England:

Charlie Hodgson
Jonny Wilkinson
Tim Payne
Lee Mears
Simon Shaw
Joe Worsley
Paul Sackey
Mike Tindall
Jamie Noon
Moody
Hape (Hopefully)
Flutey
Cueto (Maybe)
Balshaw
Armitage (I hope)
HMS Banahan (I hope)

Jesus thats some list of players. Servat, Nallet, Marconnet, Jauzion and Harry would be an absolutely massive loss. Really hard to replace players like that.

Especially Harry and Servat. Huge loss those two alone.

True, especially Servat.
We've got some good #8 coming through though, Louis Picamoles and Raphael Lakafia, although they are both the big ball carrier/offload type rather than technical like Hari...

The Jauzion case is interesting. Mermoz would be perfect but he keeps getting injured. A lot of people think that Trinh Duc would make a perfect 12 (I agree) but then you gotta find a new 10.

In the locks, Maestri is coming along nicely, old school short-tempered lock.

The biggest concern is the coach though...Galthie has been making miracles for Montpellier but I hope he stays over there a bit longer...
