The only thing I don't like about GoT is the 3 young actresses TBH.
I can't get into the TV show, read the books first and any inaccuracy, even though they're designed to be different, irks me. Avoiding spoilers is going to be difficult now, what makes it worse is that I feel G.R.R.M has created a too expansive world and character base and hasn't a ****ing clue what to do with it now.

I can imagine that, I still haven't forgiven Peter Jackson for leaving Tom Bombadil out of the LoTR films! Saying that I have a friend who read all the books first and is still mad keen on the TV series.
How far did you get with the TV programmes? Many characters have now run out of book plot (so I'm told, I haven't read them), so you might find it more tolerable now than in earlier series. You're probably right in what you say about George RR Martin, it's understandable that the TV series condenses multiple book characters into one TV character and ignores some all together. We could even see the TV series leading book plots before the whole thing is concluded (if GRRM lives that long)!

Which three? I can't think of any of the main cast whose acting I have a problem with, although in interviews / panels I've watched on YouTube, some of the younger actresses I've seen came across as typical teenage girls, which is understandable, but it was hard to correlate with the on screen personas I associate with them.
Turner, Williams and Clarke are all just wooden IMO.
Esp Clarke.
Wonder if this season will cover any of the things that was t put into last season from the books
It's just ***s and dragons as Ian McShane put it! Sadly many owners of said ***s have *** free contracts now that they're big names in their own right.
I'm looking forward to it hugely and still tempted to stay up for the simucast.
There's many spoilers online based on the trailers, will they be right or will the writers have some surprises for us?
Deadwood's been on my "to watch" list for aaaaaaages but I've still not gotten around to it.
Started watching Walking Dead last week - got through season one.
Didn't think it was anything special, but it was decent enough. I imagine it gets better as it goes along, as people are really mad for it.
Wills start S2 sometime in the not too distant future.

There's a big tonal change in S2. Where S1 is more of a zombie survival, S2 onwards is more of a human drama with zombies providing a background threat. I say try to get to the end of S2 and see what you think at that point.Started watching Walking Dead last week - got through season one.

I definitely wouldn't say it gets better though. The show is strangely addictive, and I have chain watched it more than shows I prefer, and there are some stand-out episodes, but the show is also incredibly frustrating in its lack of direction, the characters are so OTT that it makes them a little unbelievable, and it's full of tropes and lazy scriptwriting.
