What are you listening to?

'Tallica - The Call of Ktulu

Discovered Rhymesayers not too long ago, great hip-hop label. Some of the artists' lyrics make my brain hurt, in the "I-don't-know-what-you're-even-talking-about" kind of way :

Metallica and Gaslight Anthem are considered speed metal/punk these days?
:D

Splitting hairs between speed metal and thrash metal, like it.

Has moved me to stick on Master of Puppets.

Random fact of the day (discussing Speed Metal) is that I went to the same school as Lemmy from Motorhead. So there.

More Home Brew and then later after my lill snack maybe some Venetian snares

Death Metal is what teenagers and students listen to. Heavy Metal is where it's at - Iron Maiden, Black Sabbeth, Judas Priest, Motorhead etc.

Why is it called Metal? Because it's harder then Rock!

And on a lighter note: #NP The Who - Behind Blue Eyes

Never understood the appeal of death metal. Whats with the roaring or whatever they do is called. Try to avoid screamo style metal too. Been going through a power metal and orchestral rock phase lately.

Melodic death metal is where its at ;)
In Flames are the ***s

Randon fact on NWOBHM bands: Judas Priest bassist used to live one street over to me, and then married my friends Mum - still lives in the village.
Got me free tickets and an after party pass for the B'ham gig on the Angel of Retribution tour.
Proper bo.

Anywho, this track is boss:

I apologise for the double post, but it only allows one video per post.
As Iain mentioned metalcore: I'm not really a fan of metalcore/Killswitch Engage, but their new single is qualityyyyyy:

The metal stuff has never interested me. (Have fun insulting my masculinity) I like singing along with songs like I'm the 6th member of one direction..... :p

Na, but I do like understanding lyrics and I sound awesome in the shower but I started listening to Maverick Sabre for the first time in the last couple weeks, which is an incredible feat considering he's 1/2 Irish and anything decent that comes out of Ireland is played to death over here, but anyway he is absolutely class, great music.

I've kind of given my iPod a reboot it's filled with Maverick Sabre, Ryan Sheridan, Mumford and sons, a bit of the greats like Springsteen, the beach boys, Van Morrison etc... some of the great Irish stuff Pogues, Christy Moore etc.. and a few less known bands. So that's my womanly/50 year old man sense of music I'll leave the rest of you to improve your chances of going deaf with that Banshee music of yours..... Seriously I'd rather listen to dub step. :D
