What are you listening to?

RHCP made some awesome music but after Californication they went the wrong way...

Their newer stuff is still pretty good, but Californication and Blood Sugar Sex Magic are by far their best albums. Californication is probably my most listened to album ever. The first album I aver bought as well. Not a fan of their very old stuff though, their selftitled album, Freaky Styley and The Uplift Mofo Party Plan are all a little weird.

Thought I'd re-listen to an album I listened to a lot in my teens, Dr. Dre - 2001. Always love listening to this album, one of my favourite Hip-Hop albums ever. Still D.R.E, What's the Difference, Forgot About Dre, and The Next Episode are awesome tracks, especially Forgot About Dre.

Hey people.

I've been hosting a radio show on University Radio for the last couple of weeks (88.3FM for anyone in the Wellington area...) on a Friday from 2pm-4pm. I've had a couple of tracks that alot of people wouldn't have heard before that I've played but now I'm at the edge of my hipster knowlege. Been looking for some good tracks but I'm at the end of my teather. If it was up to me I'd be playing non-stop Dr Hook, Billy Ocean and the Stones, but I need a few more good unknowns to fool people into thinking that I'm "with it", and my nonstop Hall & Oates is just me being ironic.

Anyway, if you've got a track that you think has slipped under the radar of popular music (although anything that you think would be appreciated by more than the niche Progressive Jazz-fusion Pirate Deathmetal fans or the hardcore gangster rap contingency would be ideal) let me know and if I use it you'll be getting mad respect to all of the 19 listeners we have. Doesn't have to be a modern track. An example may be -

Drugstore - White Magic For Lovers: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DQA7EPcvyHc
Droge & The Summer Blend: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2TM4Tz9R5vw

Here's a few that have appeared on my mp3 a lot lately then:

Jurassic 5 - The Influence: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LstLGmrCeYg
Frank Turner - The Road: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gfGLzDQ7e-k
Ryan Adams - Let It Ride: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sGPzyeFIuuU
Paul Weller - Wild Wood: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A9_ffgwLVCs
Fionn Regan - Genocide Matinee: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lxhqjwjHH4o
Josh Ritter - To The Dogs Or Whoever: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rioOb9jWiPA
The Thrills - Bur Sur: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A1fGNCvZL_w
Dan Le Sac vs Scroobius Pip - Letter From God To Man: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e4467CI4y0M

Any recommendations?
Nothing in particular, just want some random music to listen to.
Cheers...

(Too bored to do anything else, sleep is overrated)

In last couple of days I've listened to a few new albums;

Mumford And Sons - Babel: Its ok, all the songs kind of merge into one hour long song.
King Charles - LoveBlood: A tip from twitter, very glad I tried it, best album I've heard all year, very toe tappy and head bobby, "Polar Bear" and "Bam Bam" are my favourites from it.
Muse - 2nd Law: Oh dear, not great, too many affects, harsh lyrics, rough sounds. Muse have released crap (Uprising, United States of Eurasia and Undisclosed Desires from Resistance album aside) since Black Holes and Revalations.

I have new ones by Fun, The Script and Green Day to try afterwards.

Babel is "ok" ?

I disagree! Strongly!

It's great, it's excellent, it's the Springboks winning the RWC against NZ without food poisoning rumours, it's a threesome with 2 supermodels (women), it's LN7 being adopted by S'OB, it's... it's...

It's Mumford and Sons

'nuff said
