I know it's already been decided that Twickenham will host the final in 2015, but how would you guys feel if the Wembley Stadium was chosen to host it?

How would I feel... won't care a whole lot as there is 0.000000001 x 10 to the power of -56 % chance of me attending.

Wembley is the worse stadium to watch a game in in my opinion.

Wouldn't want it though, as it would mean unnecessary pandering to the English FA.

Wouldn't this kinda benefit the Welsh more than the Pommies?? Not that I think either of their teams would be in the final though...

isn't it the Poms' turn to host the WC??

You might be confusing grounds, Wembley is our national football stadium, nought to do with the Welsh.

I'd be displeased, unnecessary loss of funds to the FA that could have been kept into the game.

yes. Sorry my mistake, I totally misread the first post. I was thinking of the Millenium stadium...

Heh, well that would rifle a few feathers if the final of England 2015 was held in Cardiff :p

I've been saving up to attend the final and have to say I'd be a bit sour to not get the chance to attend a RWC final at Twickers (between Eng and SA- you've read it here first!).

Why would it be played at Wembley?

Bigger stadium, greater capacity, greater spectacle.

But Twickenham is the home of rugby in England. Therefore, it should be the home of the Rugby World Cup final. Simple as that.

Not sure there are any bars at Wembley......

Twickenham is the home of English rugby and any final should be played there. I would go as far as to say all games should be played in England full stop, really dont know why we have to use MS or Murreyfield.

.

I've been to Wembley 3 or 4 times and whilst it is visually stunning to be in and to walk up to and it may be a 90k steater its not got a huge atmosphere, the noise tends to get lost in the vast chasm of open spaces. Twickenham is the opposite, it looks, shite, its smaller and yet it creates a really good atmosphere

Keep it at Twickenham.

However... Just one thing i was hoping they would have done... But too late now, was that they should have tried to expand Twickenham Capacity to 90K IMO.

.......or turned Twickers into a block of flats and. with the proceeds, built a new stadium in the Midlands which was easily accessible by rail to everyone and rid themselves of the present situation where most spectators have to cram into a tiny suburban train station built for commuters to get on a makeshift service in order to reach a mainline station to go home and are treated like cattle................

Wembley is an awful stadium to watch rugby, there's no atmosphere and it just feels like you're trespassing on a football stadium (for that reason also, the stewards are the usual ***** who treat you like soccer fans).

Twickenham has it's faults, but they at least understand a rugby match.

Thing about home advantage at a RWC is your familiar to surroundings routines etc so why'd England risk all that in the possibility they get to final. And as Mite said it not a great place for rugby I cringe just even thinking of Saracens carnivals there. It ok for fun occasions like South Africans against Saracens but not a RWC final

I can't believe someone just used fun and Saracens in the same sentence.

Well I meant is games not taken seriously. As I discoved in Heineken Cup over there they love the stupid disco music etc

The Saracens mentality is "day out and fun" first and foremost, rugby second.

Their supporters love it but the rest see it as crass marketing.

I wouldn't mind if their idea of a day out was actually fun, or involved watching attractive rugby.
