Welsh squad under Gatland

So we can rule out Feyi-Waboso making the squad then. Which leaves LRZ, Adams and Dyer locked in for wing and you'd hope Winnett as 15 but that leaves another 1 or 2 spots up for grabs for wing/full back. I like the look of Rogers, more as a 15 than wing but he can do a job on the wing but even though he's quick I don't think he has international level winger pace but could still be a pacey full back at international level. He definitely reminds me of Liam Williams.

Will be interesting to see who else gets in. I've seen Keelan Giles mentioned who I like and Ashton Hewitt who I also like but is injured so that maybe gives an opportunity for Giles. What's Conbeer up to? Don't think I've seen him much recently. I lie Protheroe but not sure he'll be international level but you don't know until you give him a crack I suppose.

Owen Lane? There was a time Gatland liked him but he's another one who always seemed to get injured. There's probably a few I'm forgetting and I guess Mason Grady will be a wing option but to be honest if he's already made the decision to leave at the end of the season what's the point in selecting him? If Ioan Lloyd gets selcted it will probably be as a utility back option so that could be another one and also I wouldn't be totally against LRZ as 15 either.

I see Dewi Lake is playing 7 tomorrow. Quite an odd choice if Morgan Morse is fit, which it seems he is.

Could it be being looked at as a permanent switch? Would certainly allow Lake to focus on being a beast around the park rather than work on his pretty poor darts. Would still be a weird choice with Wales' abundance of open sides.

I think it's just because the Ospreys, and any Welsh region, is barely a professional outfit.

Morgan Morse is starting but in his usual 8 position. To be fair, we have got a lot of injuries there. Tipuric, Morgan, Morris and even Deaves (who I rate) are all injured

I have no idea how I missed that. Think I must have just glossed over and read it as Morgan Morris. Makes much more sense then.

I've done that a few times so you're not alone.

Playing Lake at 7 is still a bit weird though even with the injuries. Having said that I'm looking forward to seeing him play there just for a laugh if noting else

So squad is announced tomorrow. Ospreys alone have over 20 injuries including the likes of Lake and Morgan. I'm expecting a few surprise calls in there.

I'll check in here tomorrow when squad is announced. Right now I have to prepare an ancient Druid curse and plague to put upon all the English houses for the shameful stealing of Feyi-Waboso.

**** my life. LRZ is quitting rugby to play American football. **** sake.
Just seen it, horrible for Wales and rugby But can't blame the lad . The home nations in particular Wales need to sort a suitable financial model. Rugby is a short very fraught career, if players don't feel like they are getting properly renumerated and are having to facing endless chaos with their RFU. I can see players leaving the game or at best going to the Top 14 or Japan

I'm honestly not trying to add insult to injury or anything but that's got to be the worst Welsh squad I've ever seen.

I mean Archie Griffin as 1 of 3 tightheads? He's only ever started 2 pro games and they were both in the Prem Cup. That's a wild selection.

He'll be on an NFL training squad for a couple of years won't he? That's what usually happens.

Yeah it's not great. Tighthead, especially, is a real problem though as you've rightly highlighted.

I don't care anymore. That LRZ news has hit different.

Scraping the barrell in a few positions!

Mathias can't scrummage. Can't understand him over Rhys Carre, even if Carre's still carrying a few extra pounds.

Evan Daniel is a talent, no doubting that, but he's barely played with Belcher Cardiff's first choice hooker and captain.

Tighthead selection shows how few options we have. Still though, Griffin has barely played for Bath and Brown can't stay fit! Surely Dillon Lewis would be a better option than one of those. Don't mind Gats moving on from Francis though.

Assume the likes of Rhys Davies and Fender are injured abd weren't considered at lock.

Taine Basham very lucky after a socking season so far between poor form and poor dicipline.

And now comes the biggest joke of all, Cai Evans is our third choice 10. Dear lord!

****, I guess my starting line up for Scotland would be something like.

Thomas
Elias
Assaratti
Rowlands
Jenkins
Reffell
Basham
Wainwright
Williams
Lloyd
Adams
Tompkins
North
Dyer
Winnett

Bench: Dee, Donachowski, Griffin (why not), Teddy Williams, Botham, Davies, Costelow, Grady

Obviously Beard and Costelow will start but whatever.

Honestly I don't know where to start. To say I feel deflated would be the understatement of the century.

Very happy to see some of the youngsters in there though. I like Mann, Martin and Winnett.

My only change would be Reffell at 7, Botham in at 6.
