Welsh Rugby Stuff

Still nothing from the WRU. I know it's not been that long, but they really needed to show some sort of awareness of just how bad things are. Even just an acknowledgement that things will change.

Anyone seen the Abi Tierney interview?

She looks like she hasn't slept in months, and she sounds full of ****

None of this is her fault. This issues in welsh rugby have been around for decades, but I'm not sure she has the power to handle it. It needs a massive reboot.

I think this is spot on. People wanting a region cut haven't really planned how it will work. We want 4, but looking ahead, financially, we're looking at less money than some second tier leagues.

Seems like helford have not been putting cash in and bills not being paid. Helford capital had till lunch to put up money and didnt.

Yeah, WRU will take them over in the same way they owned the Dragons for 6 years until 2023.

Still very sad, and sounds like there's been some right **** ups with the Helford Capital takeover that someone needs to be accountable for green lighting!

Cardiff Rugby chair Alun Jones said the takeover would "represent a huge moment in the history of Cardiff Rugby and gives us a bright, secure and exciting future".

That was 2024, that bright, secure and exciting... 12 months lol

Easy.
Get rid of club bias and set up 3 regional franchises for sale from WRU, with their funding support.
How about
Swansea Bay
Cardiff
North Wales
Bidders welcome for each.
WRU to agree a salary sharing scheme for 45 players, and also have power to 'transfer' players.
