It doesn't address the issues that English clubs have been worse off hosting fewer league games. Just add the 4 welsh teams to the prem, 14 team league with promotion/relegation. You'll get more fans making the trip from the north to say Cardiff on a friday night than you will from Southern Italy

The reason that the clubs are worse of, is that they are not set up to profit from the whole matchday experience or using stadia for other events.
Sarries have copied Spurs and Man City, with a Tunnel club experience for big money.
The directors have got to start thinking outside the box to generate the extra revenue, rather than relying on tickets.
18 matches is a good number, as it means, internationals are not at same time, also the fewer matches the more exclusive each one is.

Agree here..

Looking back maybe a Tewksbury accord doesn't seem so bad!

For now, I'd rather they focused on getting the foundations working and I think they could build Super Rygbi Cymru into something. I'm not too sure where an Anglo Welsh league would fit into all this right now, but maybe a cup tournament would be interesting? 🤔

SRC is needed to be supported properly as a development tool, where squad and academy players can get match experience in preparation for URC.

Barnes suggesting Anglo Welsh league.
Could be a good idea, but would like 2 Welsh and 8 English.
They should also be Franchises with a development league of 20 franchises below, each pro franchise has 2 development teams allocated.
That way there is a direct pathway from school-club-development-pro-national

I'm starting to get to the point I'd be happy for the taffs to go ahead.

The grass ain't greener.
The attendances won't be up.

If the locals cannot be arsed rolling out to watch derbies, why would they bother for games against anyone else week-in week-out?

Cardiffs attendances have been good, 7 sell outs I think this season...

Attendances can't get any worse, I can't imagine hosting Bristol or Gloucester would attract less away support than Treviso, or Stormers, where the away support is counted on 1 hand.

This is not that popular of a sport to begin with, so I would not be surprised if many that were interesting have just been priced out or become disenfranchised with the state of how it's run - not just in Wales either. This is entertainment. It's a incredibly competitive field when people just don't have the money and to be blunt, there's cheaper and more hassle free ways to spend it.

The sport will be fine, but it's not going to rapidly improve and things will probably have to change to deal with issues as they arise.

28k, I bit better than it looked 5 mins before kick off, but still looked awfull by half time of the 2nd game...

Worst ever Judgement day, by a mile, a low aulity product few people want, put on a bad weekend, run by people determined to kill the sport in Wales.

As stated above, disposable income is low and people are being careful where or what they spend it on. So many things are pricing themselves out.

I genuinely think if they gave the tickets away they might have got 30k only
Probably, but the cost and quality of club rugby has caused that. Once people stop going and lose interest, it's incredibly difficult to get them back.
Didn't the WRU recently say women's rugby is doing well for them? Bet if you look at the ticket prices and what it offers, it's a good deal for customers.
