Wasps v Leinster

from that performance i gotta say cipriani isnt good enough for england. basic handling errors poor kicking and failed to impose any direction on the game poor stuff

Well holy f*** that was tense. Compelling viewing but only because both teams were clueless in attack and insisted on playing a kicking game badly.

What Wasps were thinking of in the end kicking that penalty I have no idea. Surely they had to deny Leinster the bonus point, or at least try to.[/b]

Nearly as bad a call as Richards' one today

Just got back, so before I head back out into a f***ing horrible wind here's my twopence:

1. Wasps really ought to have won that by more
2. Leinster knew they were getting slaughtered at scrumtime so cheated to get uncontested.

Phil Vickery was my man of the match; fantastic performance. The rest of the Wasps pack looked average.

Lewsey and van Gisbergen were the two Wasps backs who looked very good especially Lewsey; Cipriani had a shocker and is nowhere near the form required of an international fly half.

Sackey > Fitzgerald.

O'Driscoll was anonymous. He really does look past it; the only sparks in Leinster's backplay came from Fitzgerald and Kearney.

Also, in the pub before I thought I might have been watching a different sport when I saw Perpignan vs Ospreys and hardly anyone kicking. Came back to ELV reality when this match kicked off; same old same old aerial pingpong for a lot of the game.

both props were injured so no cheating from Leinster. Still though it's time we take the French approach

meh, he ran well but he cant control a game leinsters problems at 10 look set to continue. im also really concerned about the backline. its just not working which is especially worrying considering gaffeny is irish backs coach

if D'Arcy finds some form then he'll be down to partner O'Driscoll leaving Dr Phil freee to play at 10 but you just can't bank on that from Cheika.

I'd like to see Earls and Fitzgerald together in Centre come the 6N.

O'Leary was fantastic yesterday and I was very impressed by Humpy for Ulster.

we're never gonna get that though, if O'Driscoll is fit he'll start, but he does need to start at inside centre cause he doesn't have the pace for outside centre and it's killing Leinster and no doubt will have the same impact for Ireland as well if Kidney persists with it.

Yeah, I know, which is why I was half hoping that Drico was injured today. Think it might be harsh to overlook Cave and Wallae at centre aswell. Wouldn't mind Wallace at inside centre and earls or Fitz at second centre.

Great spectacle, dreadful game.[/b]
Only caught the second half.

Thought the ref was great - allowed total flow, but a bit pernickety in the first half?

My brothers were there and said it was grrreat atmosphere. A lot of kicking, but it all made sense.

My impression was Leinster showed intelligence by getting the minimum needed. Wasps are on their way back, but missed a big trick with the final penalty.

And Kearney is a legend under high ball. Nacewa is too young to know stuff. And I hate to say it, but Whittaker was pretty good.

Fitness immense, punishment enormous. Who'd be a pro rugby player?

whitaker was awful

yeah I'd have to agree with that, it'll definitely cost us if we do qualify for the knockout stages

Didn't see the full game, but second half he rooted the ball out and passed it super quick and accurate.

Usually he delays like Stringer, but without understanding the pattern taking form out the backs.
