Warm Up Match 2: Blues v British & Irish Lions (Auckland)

Think that last one was a knock on, Nowell touched it yes, but so di the Blues player and because of that it shouldnt have been given a try
Was my impression too. Still dealt with really poorly regardless though.
We shouldn't be doom and gloom here. We were all over them for the entire half and our discipline let us down.

Gatland's got some tough decisions for the back row. Stander, Warburton, Tipuric, Faletau etc
I'd say it's probably his easiest selection
Warbs is captain and Faletau is the only recognised international 8 so that's 2/3 of it sewn up already

Better from Lions, but they have to take their chances, and only a decent winning margin win here will convince me. Cant see that - to be fair.

I can see most of the provincial matches being like this one. The Blues may well bethe weakest NZ Super Rugby side, but they are really not that much worse than any of the others. Its a good test for the Lions. The entire tour will be hard like this.

All over them is a huge stretch, completely pedestrian outside the set piece and apart from Payne's near miss there was no moment that would have had the Blues worried.

Nowell having one to forget maybe not.

NZ players always seem to be able to find a tiny bit of space on the outside.

We're hitting like zero rucks
It's got to be a tactic so that we don't get short on defence because these forwards all have crazy high workrates usually

Yeh considering Haskell is meant to be a work horse rather than a show pony, he hasn't thrown his weight around the ruck.

Would like to see POM coming on soon.

Haskell definitely looking like Lancaster Hask and not Aussie Tour/Eddie Jones Hask

Haskell showing his carrying prowess there, going back 4 metres in the tackle
