well you were building yourselves up for a slam before you played us in 2007 so you must have been a bad team.[/b]
There was no rugby played by Wales in 2007, that year was skipped.

yeah. We also skipped the early 90s and early 21st century.

And almost every other dark period for Welsh rugby.

Cause that's how we roll.

nah you're grand.[/b]

"Grand" is a common Irish word used in many day to day conversations. But an Irishman adding a "Slam" after Grand would probably start another World War. Fortunately that ain't happened in a while ;)

Here in Wales we call it Y Gamp Lawn and the French, Le Grand Chelem. Not sure what the Italians call it but they don't really need them two words for a couple of decades. But come on... 6 decades!

:p

Your are right, 6 decades is too long so Ireland will win tomorrow. Safe prediction Roddy!

Radio gave me the impression Powell is out.

Ireland by 4. ROG won't miss a kick, Murphy to make a huge contribution like two years ago.

Ok, here's how I see it.

Everyone except Wales wants Ireland to do it. When it's done it won't really be a big deal, because it should have been done before. Time to **** or get off the pot.

If it goes wrong, Kidney will be praised and given three more years to polish the turd.

If it goes right, Wales will fill the valleys with puke when they sniff the stinky one Ireland have left in their Millennium potty. Plus it's their Munster nightmare all over again - and Kidney has a good chance of inflicting it repeatedly.

Everything should go to plan - tight match, with Ireland turning the screw. John Hayes to drag the Irish pack over the line, then drown in a pool of his own tears.

Say what you like - I'm typing this with my toes because I've got my fingers in my ears.

I don't think that's true. The prevailing attitude when one team i going for the Grand Slam is 'if we can't have it no one can!'. So I think most countries' fans will be behind Wales, for whatever childish reasons.

Normally I'd predict a Welsh win but there's this sense that It's Ireland's Year™. I feel the sporting gods have already decided the result and the players just have to go through the motions.

I was listening to the scrumv radio programme yesterday and they were saying that they wouldn't begrudge Ireland the Grand Slam, they were just dreading the thought that we're gonna shut the game down.

Ireland: "Ah c'mon, please can we have a grand slam? We've waited so long, and you know we deserve it. And we're Irish after all, everyone loves the Irish. Pleeeeease?"

*Warren Gatland twiddles pantomime villain moustache and ties six nations trophy to train tracks*

To hell with it, I don't care any more. Let's just give Ireland the Grand Slam and pretend we were robbed by **** refereeing/Gavin Henson missing a last minute penalty/Paul O'Connell killing all of our players besides Adam Jones pre-match.

I think Barnes is the type of ref though who's out to impress so I'd imagine all the 50/50 calls will go Wales' way so he can't be accused of being soft on Ireland purely because we were going for a grand slam.
