Wales v England

I hope that Wood/Haskell actually play reversed, and just the numbers on their say that they're opposites,
I saw on the 6N site that they ARE playing the wrong positions =/
Only thing I can think of is that Haskell is being groomed as a replacement to Moody (I read an interview with Haskell where he said that's his plan), and Johnson isn't intending on keeping Wood around once Croft is back, but is choosing him over Dowson because he's better in the lineout.

Sheridan would be a great number 8 if he had any pace. He ain't a prop though.

Shane Williams would be a create prop if he was a heavier, taller, and able to scrummage.
That being said, I wouldn't put it past Shane to put on a good display at tighthead.

Full XV comparison of 2010 and 2011 Wales team
Byrne < Hook (On current form, but Byrne is a natural 15)
James = Stoddart (Tom James often looks lost, while Stodds can't tackle)
Hook > Davies (Different types of 13's, although Davies is a better runner)
Roberts = Roberts
Shane = Shane
Jones = Jones
Cooper < Phillips

James = James
Williams < Rees
Jones > Mitchell
Charteris < Davies
Jones = Jones
Powell < Lydiate (Powell is a better 6 than 8, and in better form this year)
Williams < Warburton
Jones < Powell (Ryan is off form, Powell showed some positive over the AI's and in the Prem)

The norwegian tv channel TV2 Sport will air all the 3 Six Nation games Friday and Saturday. :i-m_so_happy:

Everyone is underestimating Wood/just expecting him to not put up a fight
He's like Tom Croft but a 7, imo
Top work in the lineout, and great in general play.

Your right Olyy, people underestimate Wood and its really annoying. Nobody from other countries really tends to look at players yet to establish themselves in the england backrow and really give them any credit. Wood, Robshaw, Dowson etc. They tend to assume that all we have is haskell and worsely. (to be fair when I say this I'm talking about the huge hordes of idiots on 606, not really this forum) I've gone out of the way to find out abit about lydiate and warburton, watched videos etc, and I think they're good players, but I see no reason to believe that warburton will demolish wood.

And when MJ does eventually bring in someone new like wood people just tend to assume that he's worsely in disguise and is in fact s**t. Unfortuanely also, Haskell isn't disguising his true identity very well.

I'm expecting Wood to be a good player. He's playing in a great team in Northampton at the moment, and all players have an important role to play. However I'm expecting Warburton to get the better of him simply because of what he showed in the Autumn. Warburton was up there with the best over the course of the AI's, managing to keep McCaw and Pockok quiet ruck time, offering good ball carrying and excellent defense. If I'm totally honest, I'm fully expecting him to become an even better player over the course of this 6 nations championship, as he racks up more gametime at international level. It's gonna be tough for Wood, as a debutant to live with him if he performs at a similar level to that in the AI's. Lydiate and Wabrburton really did create a good partnership aswell. I know I'm setting myself up for a bit of a fall here, but I'm confident that won't be the case.

Would prefer Wilko 12 Banahan 13, at least everyone on the park then would have reasonable distribution skills!!!

It looks like the team that played against Auz in the AIs is Johnson's world cup 1st 15, so injuries aside I doubt we'll see much change in the team.

Banahan a good distributer?
He's got a decent offload, but he's not Olly Barkley or any of the other Centre-come-Flyhalves/Distributors floating around

HMS Banahan is another player who'd make a decent 8 if he had any pace...

The squad was named today, at midday, and Ashton is in it! :p

I am really curious to see how Foden will do. I watched Scrum 5: Six Nations preview today and after seeing that I really think Wales has a chance. Sorry Bullitt and Olyy but Wales has always been country number 2 for me to support in Rugby so I hope for a nice win on friday with a Shane Williams try down the sideline after the kick off from Wilkinson (Especially for Bullitt haha)

I have a bet that Ben Foden will score be top try scorer this six nations. Although the likes of Ashton are favourites to score the most tries I think Foden has been playing well lately and has the ability to create tries and finish them.

didnt see it irish media never care about english rugby but love english soccer:):):)

If only there was some site dedicated to rugby, perhaps with a 6 Nations section...

Not sure England will care about winning convincingly. We just need to perform away from home and scrape through, otherwise we are seriously in danger of only getting three wins again (as I can't see us beating Ireland away), and we could even lose to France at home if we slip up.

Three wins = no progress
