URC 2023/24 - Semi Finals

Ooof. Too emotional in a game they didn't need to be.

Ireland needs to lose the chokers tag somehow. It's just not working right now.
We weren't emotional probably got selection and tactics wrong. Ref was iffy but so many errors on our part.
Think the Irish rugby reset will be key. Alot of lads coming to near end and will be big 18months

Tough for Munster, they've been formidable all season. I am quite happy that we will have 3 different winners across the URC seasons so far, shows there is good competition in the league (and Leinster hasn't been a winner yet, who are perceived to be the best team in our league, which speaks to the competitiveness of the league).

As a neutral, thought the ref was pretty good and significantly better than the first semi (who was terrible for both teams in Pretoria).

Would be a fan of the Bulls winning the league as the last standing SA team… but Glasgow are reminding me of Munster last season in the playoffs. Happy for Franco Smith, he has done good things, he has done great things with that team over the last two years.

Thought the early scrapping and fist pumping after knock ons was a bit much early on but fair. Long season.

Hopefully Farrell picks up on it and accelerates a couple lads that we need.

The scrapping was mainly Pete and Richie and well there history there but wasn't too much in it. Knock ons were terrible by us like Craig probably had his worst game for us and we'll Calvin Nash was huge loss.
John Hodnett needs to be capped in my opinion. Even today he proved his class

For me the issue is with the TMO. The ref can miss those mid game, it's the TMOs job to pick them up.

I think it would be extremely difficult for Leinster to beat the Bulls on home turf (Fortress Loftus). If the Warriors win and have to play in Pretoria, the URC will almost certainly be won by the Bulls at Loftus.

Just saw this on Reddit… surely they didn't do this…

No that is photoshopped as taken from a box and to North Terrace screen. Noone was fully aware of other result and when we were out on field there was just usual promo stuff.

And look at our history with Glasgow. This game was never taken for granted

Especially pleased for Franco who is a gent and a class act. Glasgow were a shambles when he took over from Danny Wilson and he's done some remarkable work over the last two years. Hope he doesn't get lured away to a bigger job as he now has to be a serious contender to succeed Townsend when the time comes.

I feel quite bad for Fiji and the Barbarians next week. I get the feeling the stadium is going to empty out quite a bit after the SA vs Wales game as SA supporters try and catch the Bulls in the URC final vs staying to watch the Fiji game. I'm going to the SA game and am definitely leaning towards that approach.

I quite like the spicy rivalry between the two clubs. I'd like to think that in spite of all the handbags with the likes of POM and Fagerson there's still a mutual respect given that there's been some good tussles over the years between two very evenly matched sides.

Wish the final was at a neutral venue (and not at altitude) but c'est la vie.

BBC presenter at the games account. Presume they had a few graphics ready and clocked the wrong file. Embarrassing but harmless really.

Was always going to be an accidental technical blunder- you can fully understand the team planning to have those graphics ready to go ahead of the end of the game. Just not ideal for them that it was that one which ended up on screen.
