U20 Six Nations

Just to add to Irish optimism, looks like Ulster will be asking to keep Olding for this game (and will probably get him).
That's positive news. Olding will learn more playing for Ulster than he will playing with and against a bunch of kids.

Good news for Olding, good news for Ulster, good news for Irish rugby - bad news for the U20s. Possibly why he's in the position he is this week...

Weak Ireland team. Probable first choice fullback Robbie Henshaw is being held back by Connacht. Probable second choice fullback Darragh Leader is injured as is probable starting winger Adam Byrne and centre Chris Farrell. Fullback Stuart Olding is a flyhalf normally. Loosehead prop Edward Byrne is injured, backrower Josh van der Flier is just returning from injury and fellow backrower Dan Leavy is also injured. Every team has injury problems. This Ireland team has injury and availability problems to virtually all it's best players!

Olding, McGrath and Joyce are three players to watch. Sub Sweetnam is a hugely talented all round athlete.

Wales started quite well, perhaps should be further ahead than 3-0 after 20 mins. Our 7 (really should know his name) has played well.

Only just turned it on, why are the Irish shirts so big?

its quite scary that only two years ago Rory Scholes was at my school, and I remember watching him kicking at goal in the Ulster schools cup final. Same with Farrell, he's absolutely huge. Pity he's injured.

I prefer this, in fact I have noticed the use of the skintight/sprayed on shirts being used less. Obviously not back to "proper" rugby shirts yet but its welcoming to see a 20st prop having a bit of room to move in

But terrible for a wing trying to avoid the snagging hands of a fullback.
I prefer the slimmer fit shirts, personally.

Or running into a headwind. Once played with a skinny kid who left his kit at home and the only one spare was 2 sizes too big and it was a comical sight seeing him run down the win into a howling gale. He looked like a flying squirrel

He could try to hurdle the fullback and stick his arms out for that extra lift.
Davies has missed 4 kicks today, not great considering we are down by 4 (also remember the blown try early on).

Yeah not great, conditions dont look too bad so it not wind thats affecting the kicks.

Baby Dragons look like they are trying to imitate the senior team. Not a great idea there.

It has been blowing a gale on and off for the last two days in the bay.

Daniel Thomas having a great game (apart from that pass early on). Why haven't the Scarlets given him a shot? He seems ready made for the way they like to play the game.

Because that makes too much sense. Turks are convinced that McCusker, Turnbull, and Shingler will work eventually.

Ireland dominating here, seem the fitter outfit. Our lads hanging on so far.

Well they hung on in there to get the win. Big defensive effort in the second half from Cory Allen.

Not a great performance, but credit to the nippers for holding on in defence and getting the win.
Massive improvements needed if they want to go to the next level, mind you.
