U-20 6 Nations

Another break from Ian Madigan. Whoever took the decision to convert him from flyhalf to fullback should take a bow (I'm guessing it's Emmett Farrell). He looks very dangerous every time he carries the ball.

Foley on for McKinley. McKinley played pretty well. Foley could become a fantastic player- he's eligible for this level again next year.

18 - 10 to Scotland now with 4 minutes left. I hope to God it's not a sign...

Final Score: 18 - 17. Another score in injury-time for Wales reduces the score to one... Far too late though.

some strange calls in this game, I can understand them taking the first scrum but the warning signs were there so why take it the second time?

great break from Doyle, they've absorbed the pressure well. Penalty now to win the game.

Excellent result for Ireland even if the game was quite poor. As u19s a good portion of these Irish players were blown out of the water by their French counterparts by 34-10. That's some progression in the space of a year.

Mark Doyle came on and had a big impact. I didn't know much about him before the game but he looks like a decent prospect - he was on the Crescent College schools team last year alongside Andrew Burke.

A good win. From what I saw of It Peter O'Mahony, the Ruddocks (especially Rhys, who is only 18) and Madigan played well. Madigan looks very good indeed. Maybe it's just that he has improved since I last saw him, but Madigan looks much better at full back. If O'Mahony bulks up a bit he could go pretty far I reckon. I am also very happy that Rhys has decided to play for Ireland.

Can the Ruddocks still play for Wales or is it like football where they play for the country they played for under age level?

As far as I know only a 7's, A or full cap disqualifies you from playing for other countries. Bit like how Shane Geraghty played underage for Ireland. I would like to keep these lads!

actually scrap that, one of them has already played for the under-16 side, so not sure where that leaves them in terms of senior rugby.

Ciarán has always played for Ireland and Rhys has always played for Wales until tonight as far as I know. When it comes to senior rugby I imagine it comes down to who is the first to give them an 7's, A or senior cap first.

Good to see Ash playing for Scotland, play with him for Aberdeen y'know...

dissappointing that RTÉ aren't streaming the Italy Ireland match, they did it 2 years ago, no reason why they can't this time round either.

well it turns out they are streaming the match afterall, just saw it now during the football. Good stuff, will keep an eye on it during the France match.

Ian Madigan moves from fullback to the No.10 position, with David Kearney moving from the wing to slot into fullback. Mark Doyle comes into the team and is named on the right wing instead of Kearney. There has also been a reshuffle in the front row, with Jack McGrath swapping sides from loose head to tight head.

Paddy McAllister comes off the replacements bench to start at loose head and Jack O’Connell moves into the replacements. Ronan O’Mahony comes into the replacements as a result of Mark Doyle’s promotion to the starting side and is joined by scrum half Matthew Healy who joins the squad in place of John Cooney.

Ireland Coach Allen Clark said, “The game against France showed the character of the squad, the work rate and defensive effort were significant and the determination to force the vital score was very pleasingâ€.

“Saturday's game against Italy poses a further challenge. Italy asked significant questions of England in defeat and will no doubt be looking forward to kick start their campaign at home. Our focus is to build on the positives from last week and improve the accuracy of our decision making and execution in attackâ€.

“We have made some changes to the starting team, Andrew Burke was not considered for selection due to injury and the backline has been reshuffled with Ian Madigan moving from full back to out half, Kearney from wing to full back and mark Doyle to the wing with Ronan O'Mahony taking the available spot on the bench. The change in the forwards sees McAllister coming into loose head with jack McGrath moving across to tight head and jack O'Connell on the benchâ€.

A couple of interesting calls, most notably shifting Madigan to flyhalf from fullback. I would have thought that moving Ian McKinley from 13 to 10 would have been the call given Andrew Burke's injury.
