TRF's 2014 FIFA World Cup

tomato sauce and ketchup. Wine and grape juice. Fine difference, and yet nothing alike. I never learned to ride a bike. This can go on for a long period of time, but it won't. I'm hungry. I'll have some food now. Eating is a judicious choice to make, and I salute my decision. The longer you eat in this life, the healthier your chances of not dying are. It sounds complicated, and yet, it's something we all manage to understand. Nobody really dislikes food. What would you call that, a phagephile ? I'd say that's a pretty good shot at it, but I'm no bicycle rider, remember. Tomato juice and grape sauce. Very fine line, and yet the healthier your chances are of dying. Of not dying, sorry. My mistake. I'm hungry. I'll have to go eat now.
Judicious juice.

It's like the swallows fly to the sea. The birds came in and seen the seagulls. The bread was fresh but who ate it

Nah, I meant the predictions for Holland-Argentina.

About the final... everyone will probably predict Germany to steamroll us, but it won't happen. It'll likely be a rather uneventful match with few shots, if Germany wins, it'll be 1-0, 2-0 at best if they catch Argentina off guard while they try to tie.

Pretty much like RWC 2011 final, everyone was predicting the All Blacks to win easy and in a spectacular way and it ended being a try-less match decided with penalties.

Umm their was tries in the final, 1 for each team, you can't get a 8-7 scoreline in rugby without tries. lol

But I have picked Argentina to win the soccer final

if Germany put another 7 past Argentina in the final, would they immediately be considered the best football team of all-time lol ?

They would have to be considered the best world cup finals teams of all time.

Disagree, for some reason the players of packs are called: 'FORWARDS', because they go forward. No rugby strategy is equal than 'Catenaccio' in football because they are very different sports with very different rules. A package beat to another package, isn't the same as 10 players football into his own net near of their goalkeeper. And what about 'penalty shootout'? There is nothing in rugby that you can compare to that. And that's all I have to say about it, I don't want to divert attention from this thread.

Well if there is no comparison why compare? ^_^ 10 man Rugby means forwards stuff the ball up the jumper, and then rely on the kicker to kick the pens....ie. England vs France in the '03 World Cup semi. The attacking players (oddly called backs) might as well not be on the field. This is why Rugby league folk complain about backs in Union barely touching the ball. Imagine if this applied in football....ball possession dominated by defenders, then rely on penalties through empty posts to put scores on the board, while the attackers don't get a kick. Thankfully the opposite is the case my Argie friend. Attackers invariably win games in football...global stars everyone want to see. The Beautiful game.

How about everyone just gets back to discussing the actual FIFA World Cup?

wh...WHAT ??!!! NOOO, YOU FOOL !!!!!! NEVER !!!! Why in this God-forsaken world would you want us to do that ?!!!! I'm sorry but this is just a downright strange idea and is completely heterogeneous with who we are. It's dubious in fact...who are you, Rich Taff ?!... o_0

Got a couple of quid on Holland to win and there to be more than 2.5goals.
Looking good so far...

Yeah I picked the Dutchies as well, no pressure on them this game, they can come out and have fun, play loose. Brazil have rebounded a bit in the last 5 minutes but they still look shell shocked.

Yeah, I turn the TV on like 5min into the thing and I see BRA 0-1 HOL, like, okay it's gonna be like that huh...Brazil the football team are even worse than France the Rugby team. It's very similar in that they have good players but zero cohesiveness/culture/gameplan. Anyways, they might score one in the second half, but Holland to get the third place regardless.

Watching ITV and Glenn Hoddle made a great point...Brazil winning the meaningless Confederation Cup last year gave them a false sense of what level they were at. The coach Scolari has picked the same group of players from that tournament...and the result is easily the worst Brazilian team ever.

They are toothless in attack...cant put more than two passes together. Fred, Jo, Hulk, Paulinho...imposters who have no right to be wearing a Brazil shirt. The most talented front four Brazilians today are;

Oscar---Kaka---Neymar
------Diego Costa

Also the two outstanding Brazilian defenders from the Spanish league champions Atletico Madrid should both have been in the starting XI (neither player even made the squad). Fernandinho is an excellent midfielder but he is suffering playing in such a disorganised team.

Scolari has stayed loyal to garbage and will be sacked because of it.

This game's really gone to sleep after the first 20 or so minutes.
Brazil threatening a lot more in the 2nd half, but not doing a lot with it.

Yeah it's an odd game, a few chances but a lot of sloppy play. After the dutch got up 2-0 it seems like everyone has kind of wanted to get the flight home.

10 conceded goals in two consecutive home matches at the World Cup. Nice. Brazil almost looked ridiculous again today, and were laughable on many plays, basic stuff. But this shouldn't take anything away from Holland, they played well themselves, clinical and organized on attack and excellent on defense. Oh well, fk Brazil this year...I'd predicted a 3-1 Holland, not even one for Brazil..

So 2-0 Germany for tomorrow, yeah, sounds just about alright no ?

Weeheeeyyyyy,
Was really expecting that to end on 2-0 towards the end there.

Gone for a Germany win with +2.5 goals again for tomorrow.

Not really, Holland didn't play overly well. They were completely gifted all 3 goals, if they went up another few gears of theirs it could have been much more considering how **** and uncoordinated Brazils defense is. Should have put more passed them.

2-0 is also a big call inside 90 minutes - Argentina have a solid defense and Mascherano has been excellent. Germany won't get anywhere near that amount of room as they did in the semi's.
All things point towards a Germany win, and they've been my favourite team from the start, but something tells me that boy Messi will make the difference.

Is that Germany to score +2.5 goals or +2.5 goals in the game in total? (90 mins)
