TRF's 2014 FIFA World Cup

God damn I hate Uruguay... Probably the dirtiest team in the tournament. Hope they get ripped to shreds in the knock outs...

No one's gay for Moleman

:p

Italy have shown the kinds of dirty, dirty, dirty team they are...and lost to Uruguay who ironically scored on a lucky goal, although they'd been showing lots of risk taking and attacking all night. Suarez didn't have a good game. Italy out, cool.
Hey stormer, you wanna be Ghana now ? :p yeaaaaaaah man, African solidarity bro, alright..

Suarez takes a chunk out of an Italian defender to make it three bites in his career. World class player, true genius, but he's got a serious screw loose. The poor fella can't help it.

Cannibalism is an illness... Commonly found in the South Americas...

Boggles my mind that Suarez. Im out. Will be cheering 'hup' on the sidelines. Does Samoa have a soccer team? Id like to see them face Uruguay.

Well to be fair, Suarez has been snapping at the heels of the Italian defense all game...

I supported the Dutch in the last world cup and I have Uruguay in this one. I'll continue with my line from 2010.... "It's just hard football, a bit of a throwback, good for the sport in my opinion."

First time Greece makes it past the pools....congrats. Cote d'Ivoir got penal-FUKKED there...

Is Forlan fit and playing though? I havn't see him though I only watched the one game with uruguay so far this year. I do love that guy though, yes.

Yeah he is fit, he'll be in for Suarez now, but at 35 might not be able to chew up as many minutes. Still nice to have your 3rd striker as Forlan even if in the twilight of his career.

Christ we now have Evander Holyfield commenting on the bite... poor Suarez is really getting hammered from all corners.

He doesn't step on the field and think.."right today Im gonna have a bite outta that fella". It's just purely instinctive...and that's even more worrying because he's not in control. He loses it for a split second. Not sure that trait can be removed from someone. Really we need to hear from psychologists on this and not amateurs such as Alan Shearer.

Speaking of boxing, instinct and constantly breaking the rules....does anyone remember how Andrew Golota could basically NOT stop himself from throwing low blows at people. One of the oddest things I've ever seen in sport.

Third?!?! I knew about the Ivanovic one, which one have I missed?!

No sympathy for the guy, has a track record of what basically amounts to assault, almost always unprovoked, so ban the prick for as long as they can. Was 10 games last time, obviously hasn't learned so make it 20 or 30. Also, read that Liverpool are holding a meeting to see whether his future still lies with them.

Remember the Bowe fight...was there more incidents?

Yep..first one was at Ajax in 2010..he got a seven match ban. That's the first reported incident of course there may have been more. As regards not having sympathy, the bites are clearly not intentional. These are the traits of someone who has no control. He walked off at the end and knew he was screwed...so be knows its wrong but those split second moments keep costing him. His wife cannot explain it and has asked him what happens on the field....he doesn't know. Bans are pointless as they would only be a deterrent for someone in control of what they are doing of which he is not. He needs serious psychological help...but even then I dunno if that trait can be knocked out of him.

I know it's terribly.. archaic of me but I just don't acept the idea that one can do something like bite another person unintentionally. I consider the whole idea of not holding people responsible for their actions and words lunacy. I'm not saying one cannot forgive another, I am saying own what you do/say and don't try to blame whatever newly invented psychosis.

I agree with Stormer on this, I don't take that as a valid excuse for his behaviour. It's not like biting is the only reprehensible trait he has, as he's in the news for something or other every damn season - racism, following up that racism by refusing to shake Evra's hand next time they played (raising more questions about him being racist), and of course simple outright cheating with that block on the line vs Ghana coupled with the celebrating the missed penalty, which p*ssed a lot of people off.

The simple fact is, even if it is some sort of adrenaline fuelled craziness as you suggest, why should he be allowed anywhere near a football pitch again? You wouldn't allow a guy to play if matches made him go nuts and kidney shot the opposition, so why a guy who like to try and take chunks out of other players with his teeth?!
Also when asked about the incident he said "it was nothing", that was a damn cool response for a guy who as you say "knew he was screwed".

Your right it's archaic. When questioned by his wife why he does it he doesn't know.

Just think about this...for his 2nd bite he got a 10 match suspension and missed the start of this season....hammererd for it...absolutely crucified....he was tortured by the media and fans over it which badly affected him (even brought it up again last week). Fast forward 9 months later and the world watching...knowing the sh@storm that happened with the last bite....and anyone seriously thinks he intentionally goes out and does again? This is where logic comes in. The fella has zero control of himself when wound up...it's only a split second. His team had just qualified for the next stage so should be jubliant, yet he walked off that field with the face of a man who knew he was screwed. Unless he's some sort of masochist and wants to destroy himself...unlikely. He doesn't know what he's doing. I know folks who get pent up and swear (followed by an immediate..."sorry for swearing"). I've previously done it unintentionally myself. On the field he gets pent up times 100 and lashes out. It's not a ban he needs (zero deterrent given he's not in control) it's psychological help. I think he was getting it anyway but obviously hasn't worked..yet.

Far too simplistic view of things (and former footballer Stan Collymore who himself has psychological demons hit the nail on the head in his radio show). It's not an excuse...it's a reason. Can only assume you (and those who just throw tomatoes at such folk) have little time for "psycho babble".

A pent up reaction isnt just limited to biting..I used swearing as an example which is all the more common. That such a reaction on his part isn't intentional is more worrying as the likelihood is this will happen again. Given that he can't explain his behaviour he's in trouble. The "racism" story was a farce from the get go, with the other party involved being a wind up merchant with a history of bullsh@tting (and getting banned for it). The FA were backed into a corner by the media and the kick it out campaign, and came up with a verdict despite zero evidence. In a court of law it would have been dismissed immediately.
