The player of the tournament thing is a bit of a joke really. The fact that only one English player has won it in the 20 years the tournament has had it is ridiculous. Hell now even Italy have won it more than us. It's complete ******** to claim that in the last 20 years there has only been 1 time we have had the best player of the tournament.

In hindsight, JGP robbed.

Think the Hogg years are ones where England have a real right to moan about.

I think Hogg was a deserving winner first time he won it - he pretty much carried Scotland that year and scored some quality solo tries. Would concede he didn't deserve to win it the following year and thought there were more worthy contenders.

I thought JGP was the most consistent performer - good leadership and helped a noob FH through the comp to win the championship. I think Italy were this year's media darlings which probably helped Menoncello. Wouldn't have any complaints if any of Brex, Menoncello, JGP or Earl won it.
