Transfers rumours

Anyanwu is going to be on £300k at Montpellier, which is a bit nuts

It's precisely the kind of move England should be very worried about. Retaining regulars should be easy enough.

But we really don't want next generation players who aren't quite there yet, but heading towards the fringes deciding to cash in. (Especially 12s!)

A new environment should help develop them as players, but I don't think J Willis will be the last to decide that the bank balance and lifestyle in peak years is more important than anything else.

It's a big issue - basically will be those on central contracts and everyone else will be way below the quality.

Sorry @Geordie, but feels like a good move for him.

Haven't seen much of him recently but there was a lot to like about the way he played, albeit darts were pretty lousy. Tigers are generally pretty hot on the set piece so I guess he's either better or they at least think there's enough to work with.

And although Dan's got a central contract, there are definitely England places up for grabs.

Happy with that
Ross Byrne also being linked to us, less so happy with that after the **** I gave him but if Cheika is staying and rates him I'll accept him as the GOAT Leinster 10

Im actually not overly concerned. Very good player but his lineout throwing is a MASSIVE issue. We've seen the whole aspect of Jamies game this season...very good round the field and scrum (not good enough to go back row) but his lineout has costs us dearly at many times through the game...in try scoring positions etc...

I have a feeling its a problem for Diamond who loves his key skills. And the younger lads coming through the academy are far better in their core skills like Ollie Fletcher.

We will see how he does in a functioning pack

Anyway looks like Will Evan's off to France some very interesting players leaving in their prime or near quins it seems

We were always going to lose a back row imo tbh so Wev isn't that surprising. Lennox getting offered that kind of money is also fine.

Jibulu is a worry though

I mean I wouldn't say it's fine, it's understandable but very big losses to replace
Idk I think people are being dramatic. Ultimatly Wev is great but isn't nailed on to start, and Kenningham will be around for a while in that shirt. Lots of Quins fans didn't even rate Lennox until this year and has had 6ish good games, if that. Northmore can play 12 (although better at 13) and Bradley and Kerr both look super promising in the centre

We won't replace Wev and it sounds like we're chasing an expensive 12 - provided we do that, we'll be fine on both fronts

Anyanwu having 6 good games on his first season as first choice after round 6, he looked good before but was behind Esterhuizen.

He'd be a huge loss as he's looking good in the prem at the beginning of his first real season of development. It's not dramatic.

Agreed.

Wev loves Quins, but he clearly isn't going to get a chance with England and I highly doubt we're going to win the Champions Cup, so he can leave with a Premiership winners medal and cash in. Totally understandable.

The bit I don't get is the D2 piece? He's a different type of flanker, but if Ludlam is good enough for Toulon, so is Wev.

Anyanwu has looked good this season but whether he can sustain that or kick on to a higher level is definitely up for debate. I'm not cut up about the prospect of him leaving. If Montpellier are willing to pay him £300k, then so be it.

Jibulu is the concerning one. However, whether the rumours are actually true is another thing, particularly when Fissler seems to be he main source.

Walker going to France would make perfect sense. He's out of the national set up and 28. Good player, but never lived to the early hype (wasn't the first, won't be the last).

France pays more and it's a much more vibrant scene. Hope he stays but wouldn't be remotely surprised to see him go.
