Transfers rumours

Er my money is still Langdon rather than Akker

Faf, Lood, Langdon, Solomona, AJ, JP du Preez, Phillips Out
Hill, Ford, Groves, O'Flaherty, Barrow IN
Prob sounds about right considering Faf and Lood are marquees and the cap going down.

Possibly, but Akker is out of contract this season and I'm not sure that Langdon is
Could be that they both are we re-sign Akker, but I hope not tbh - if they're both out of contract I'd just keep Ashman and Taylor as 1st and 2nd and bring someone in from the championship or something, use the cap elsewhere

I'm surprised we're only losing three tbh - McGuigan and Ross are out of contract too (though maybe we've given McGuigan an extension because of [Redacted] being unavailable)

Maybe last news I have found on Langdon is when he joined the club in 2016 though.
Rob du Preez signed at the same time for the same length and has another 3 years left there's potentially the case both players got another 3 years.

Jackman saying Dooley and Adam Byrne to Connacht.

Would be a great move for Dooley, think he'd be a starter very quickly or at least in the 23 ahead of Duggan.

Such a pity what injury has done to Byrne's career. So much potential but can't remember the last time he put the majority of a season together. Still only 27 so hopefully the change of scenery would at least do him well.

I wonder if the Du Preez twins won't return to South Africa...either Sharks or Bulls. They could start to push for space in the Bok group.Specially JL.

Can see (if he stays fit) this move springing Byrne in to Irish camps. He'd be a certain starter there and is suited to their style.

TRP
Olly Cracknell to Tigers looking done
so'otala fa'aso'o to Irish
Teimana Harrison to Provance
Ealing looking at Brown
Clermont after Hughes

Is there still a lot of money floating around in the ProD2? Cause I'm surprised he'd drop to a mid table 2nd div side
A few guys in each club would be on serious money and then some of the younger guys are on peanuts.

Yeah he's been rumoured to be off for a while - I'd be a little surprised if he moved back to South Africa rather than France/Japan, though
He specifically left SA after getting home invasioned/having a gun put in his face, and he's got a baby now - if security concerns were an issue before they'd be even more so now

Yea it seems Sharks are close to signing Rohan with Rapport as the source. Im pretty sure its happening.

Our 12 Marius louw head to the Lions as they are losing Burger Odendaal and we sign a 12 replacement.

Sharks have sights on a Sale Sharks Springbok - report https://www.news24.com/sport/rugby/...ts-on-a-sale-sharks-springbok-report-20220307

But i dont like the trade. Louw is a former flanker and really good and consistent IMO.

Rohan is a good player on his day but injury prone and probably unfit. We wont have his services for most of the time so not really too chuffed about this one, also he is a 13 and Am is also a 13

probably unfit
How so?
He's dropped several KG and looks fitter than I've ever seen him, tbh
also he is a 13 and Am is also a 13
Nah, he's a 12 - played almost exclusively there for us for years
One or two games on the wing when we've had an injury crisis, only really shifts to 13 when he partners with Manu but that's because England want Manu at 12 - I just had a quick look and I think he's only started 4 games at 13 in the last 5 seasons

You should be concerned about his hands, though - for a guy whose game is built around running hard lines he has pretty poor ball retention, he knocks on almost as much as he keeps
But when he does keep hold of it he's a serious asset - not many guys have the power that he has but also the speed

Oh wow did not notice he played 12 for you guys, I knew him as a 13 from his time at the Lions and just presumed he would play there. His injuries also influence the perception of poor fitness but I will take your word as I have watched him far less than you in recent times. With that said he is not really in the Springbok picture at Sale so maybe, that motivates his return?

Imagine it definitely plays into it - out of sight out of mind n all that
He's also just had a baby - might want to raise her around his/his wifes family and not on the other side of the world

Nah he's been living in Manchester so prob stuffed his face with pies and baps.

I do think Covid has affected a lot of peoples views about family which has affected a few players motives.

I hope Trevor isn't going....be very dissapointed but cant see it...

Apparently Bath 10 Tian Schoeman is on his way to us...what's he like as player if he actually recovers from his ACL
