Transfers rumours

Wow, that's crazy!
Presuming it's family issues, or something along that line, and a move back to South Africa rather than anything else?

Official statement due imminently apparently.

Will make a thread in the Aviva sub.

Robin Copeland from Cardiff Blues to Munster:

The Leinsterification of the southern province continues! I suspect this means one of James Coughlan or CJ Stander is moving on.

Unfortunately the SO'B --> Clermont
Heaslip --> Toulouse

Rumours are heating up again.

Geez, our exodus is so bad we are losing nonWelsh players.
Further rumours that halfpenny is Toulon or Clermont bound. I'd say Clermont is a better option, with Byrne getting up there and possibly leaving. Toulon has Armitage and Mitchell at fullback.

I've thought all along that Clermont would be the right choice for Halfpenny - Byrne moving back to Wales (potentially? Dunno whether that's confirmed or not) would mean it'd make even more sense.
Dirty Delon signed a new contract recently 'n' all.

Clermont and Toulouse seem like the best destinations for Welsh players from a Welsh point of view IMO.
They seem to be the two most professional French clubs.

Is Byrne definitely going back to Wales? It'd be funny if both him and Halfpenny were at Clermont, Byrne would probably start ahead of Halfpenny for club and vice versa for country!

Not only strange goings on in Bath but reports of two massive Irish signings to be announced by Toulouse and Clermont tomorrow! #rugby

Don't know how reliable he is but please no.

Sorry about formatting.

Apparently if you read the Clermont forums, there's a lot of cold water being poured over the idea of getting O'Brien.

Heaslip to join Picamoles and Galan at Toulouse is coals to Newcastle too. Someone intelligent on PR suggested it might be Murray instead.

Apparently Picamoles contract is up at the end of the season.

Would not rule out Heaslip.......with the new accord with the FFR, Noves is on record today as saying a french interntational will miss over half of a season and it is possible that both Galan and Picamoles could be so involved that Heaslip would find plenty of game time along with Maka. However, they are pretty well served at 9 with Bezy, Dussain and Vermaak.............

Wouldn't Heaslip be missing for the international windows as well? I'd imagine that he'd get release for Irish training camps written into his contract as well.

If Picamoles were leaving it might make more sense.

What osullie said.

If O'Brien left, Leinster folk should burn down the IRFU HQ.

Heaslip is the highest paid Irish player. He's on at least half a mil, sponserships excluded. I can't see him moving to a team which he has two top class 8's for a matter of 75-100k with a far more strenuous calender.
