Transfers 2015/16

On the Cardiff Blues incomings it has Gareth Delve (n8) in where he has joined the ospreys.

Good shout. It also says Rey lee-lo has joined the Ospreys, when actually he has joined the Blues. What is this thread coming to! ;)

Slightly puzzling though - is Slade and Steenson easier competition to overtake than Myler and Hanrahan?

With Slade playing 10/12/13 and Steenson getting on a bit, maybe?

Also, if Slade goes to the RWC or the 2016 6N that's a load of game time.

Both plausible answers but no guarantee of either insofar as I can see - unless Hooley's been told otherwise behind closed doors.

p.s. Quins get Swiel as their second choice fly-half, Exeter get Hooley as their third-choice... good work Quins!

He'll be first choice of Ben 'the Butcher' Botica keeps up his steady decline!

(Not sure if you were being sarcastic?)

Ps. I assumed Hooley has been given some behind closed door assurances.

Was that sarcastic? I wouldn't say Sweil is one I'd consider a disaster, lot to work on but you don't expect a finished article as your second choice FH (unless you're Bath and decide to jizz half your salary cap on an international to understudy Ford...)

I like what I've seen of Swiel, but I think I'd rather have Hooley based on what I've seen so far, and Swiel will be comfortably one of the worse second choice fly-halves of any Premiership club even remotely thinking about the play-offs on current evidence. I hope he kicks on swiftly for Quins' sake.

Isn't Harry Mallinder's son rated too? That might be the reason Hooley is off.

Fair point, just didn't cross my
Mind to think of Quins as pushing for playoffs

Seems to be heading more towards 12 than 10. I think it's more to do with Hanrahan arriving, although you'd have thought he could have got a second choice 10 berth somewhere (well, Quins).

Of course you didn't, they've got players like Swiel and Botica backing up Nick Evans, why would you think of that as play-off contenders?

They do however have serious amounts of money and talent, they should have a squad capable of challenging... just not currently.

Poor excuse @Peat, we've got Devoto as our ten backup and we're playoff contenders...
