Toulon: more, more, MOARRRRR RARRR !!

But I considere we need also great foreigners. French players need to meet regularly foreign cultures, and not only in tests or in european cups.

lets put a quota of 65% of French in the club and it should permit to have a sufficient "reservoir" (tank ? ) of french players in each position.
yes I think that's the only benefit we get from that fact. We're used to playing super athletic super quick Fijian or ex-AllBlack wingers now, we're used to playing those enormous Pacific Islander forwards.

And Boudjellal is hilarious with his claims. Anytime there's an article with him speaking, I know I'm going to read something enormously over-the-top and exaggerated. "It's racist !" hahaha...ahhhh Mourad. You didn't actually just try that one did you ?? ohhhh, you did...you did.

He's going to do everything in his power to have the best team on paper, on the field. He doesn't give a flying fkk if he had to play Martians or if every Toulon win killed 100 babies in the Brazilian suburbs. He's a business man. There's only one goal, one color: money. GREEN.
He doesn't want shhitty French players or have to wait for those to develop. He wants Lobbe at flanker. He wants Habana at the wing. He wants Wilkinson at the 10. He wants Giteau and Bastareaud at midfield. He wants Castrogiovanni or Carl Hayman at tighthead. He wants Ali Williams and Bakkies in the second row. He doesn't have time for all these cute little protection rules, he couldn't give a sht if he tried hard.

but at the end of the day the club is auto financed he no longer puts money into the club, and he is the holder of the H Cup and still in it this year, and also the play offs of the TOP 14 more than likely, so who is right and who is wrong, now and again he could put brain into operation before opening mouth but that would not be his style!!!!!!!!!!

I called that he day Hore was about to retire. Very much Toulon's style.

... Maybe the NZ franchises should have found a place for him, it looks like Mealamu's calf is still a bit dodgy ... I get that they didn't want to take both through to the next world cup, but they could end up with neither of them

Can't say it differently ;) ... what's the problem if it works... ?

It's funny, but I haven't seen someone complained when USAP took Carter instead of a french 5/8...

You wont see anyone complain in France about the foreigners in the TOP 14, everyone else is jealous but hate to admit it, the under 20's have just won a Grand Slam and there is no emerging talent coming out of the French clubs !!!!!! i dont think so,!!!!!!!!!! we have bundles of young talent in Montpellier, just waiting their chances and a quite a few have been prominent this season in the TOP 14. Toulon are H Cup holders the French national team have won 3 out of 4 and maybe a 4th tonight,
so a Nation that relies on foreigners!!!! is not doing that bad after all. If we change the coaches (no chance)get back all the injured players, the tune could be a very different one, when evryone is singing from the same songsheet

... Nope, most of us Kiwis are happy that you take our older players ... they get a few extra dollars towards the end of their careers, and it opens up spaces in our five super rugby teams, for our new talent

If French rugby supporters are happy with the arrangement as well, that's great, it's a "win/win" situation ... I'm certainly not jealous about the ability to attract overseas players, as it would be catastrophic for New Zealand Rugby

It's a win win situation, I agree... But I was speaking about Carter when he came and played for USAP... Never thought he was so old ;)

I agree partly on that, I have a mixed position about foreigners : I think many foreigners bring alot in french top14 but I also regret there are some which are NOT better than Young French... Following my "reasonment" (if that word exists), there are too much foreigners. They are picked cause they are considered cheaper and seem "in advance" to their french Young counterpart at the same age.

We need a better Policy in France, more ruled, but it suggests a strong FFR with a subordinate LNR. And we haven't that LNR rules the FFR, and few big boss rules the LNR. It explains that Boudjellal is "unhappy", he would want to be with the "deciders", the others guys which makes sun and rain at the LNR and the FFR, but they deny him to.

Money rules french rugby, and it what's many "specialists" have wished in the mid nineties, when they did the professionalism the way it is now. French national side suffers alot, principally because of that... We have what we deserve !

Hardly.
You think he makes a return on his "investment"?
Nope he puts money into Toulon because he loves the club and he loves the town, his main priority or goal is RC Toulon. I have a lot of respect for him in that regard. He wants them to be a big club, a club known all around the world. He's pretty much done that already and he wants to continue that success.

With the crowds they're now getting, the local/municipal(hell of a lot of local investment) and private investment being put into the club because of it's profile he now doesn't actually have to put that much money in.

in fact he quoted himself that he no longer bankrolls Toulon it is now auto financed and actually makes a profit.

This was not directed at the SH it was more to do with Blighty i know we are doing the SH a service but they also help with their playing experience and age +they attract bigger and better crowds eg Rene Ranger for us at Montpellier they often do a lot of work with the clubs youngsters which is a win win situation for everybody: eg we have kept Drikus Hancke after 9 years of excellent service as a player he know shares his forward and lineout experience with the clubs younger generation of future stars, not all the players are after the big bucks, as apart from several stars the money is no more than what the average French players earns, it gets blow all out of preportion by the media i should know i work for the clubs media. i as i said previously this is a win win situation for all.

The anti French rugby sentiment in the media at the moment is unbelievable.

We use to know that sentiment lol ... after all France is only tolerated in IRB by anglo-countries. They like french rugby champagne but they will never accept France winning a RWC... I reassure you, there always will be a Joubert in a final where France is playing...

Yep ... or a Bryce Lawrence if South Africa is playing, or a Wayne Barnes if New Zealand is playing, or an Alain Roland if Wales is playing ... I'm over people putting the blame solely on the refs as though it's some form of conspiracy
