The most hyped young Frenchman of 2012: Gaël Fickou

Just thought it would be nice to bring forward this old thread after last week end action

Dummy in this video is almost identical to his one against England!

I've found a few posts from a couple years back where I have made some 'interesting' predictions. My finest hour was advising plumtree to move Kankowski to centre just to avoid seeing any more Joubert. Then again, I did call Ludik to 13 two years early and singlehandedly got Gouws Prinsloo to start one week.

Fickou is not hyped except by clueless media mostly foreign who couldn't tell the difference btw a Toulon jersey and a Toulouse one. Fickou is a genuine talent, he doesn't need the hype. He is also well managed by Noves who wont fall into the trap of stardom.
Another youngster impressed over the weekend for Toulouse agst Castres (and what a game that was with 4 super Toulouse tries) Thomas Ramos only 18 yo scoring his first try in the tightest of game and played superbly. Ah yes too many foreigners in the Top 14 blablabaaaa

Freddie wasn't just a flair player though. One of the best matches he played for us was at Newlands in the 2011 CC. He kicked everything and slotted a few drop goals. It was a dire match but he took control and won it.
For me, he is the epitome of a French back. Bold and brilliant one moment, the next... oh god! He is well-loved by Sharks fans, and I think we are all glad to see him have another crack in the French shirt. Take care of him! (Bloody bugger made Lambie play fullback though, bald barrel...)

oh please no. We're done with Freddie. You can have him back. He is on his last season in Toulon. No more room for him. Nice guy but he is on his way out and is done with the French team (or the french team is done with him). With the crop of new players at 9 & 10 like Plisson, he hasn't got a hope in hell anyway. Next season Kockott will also be eligible to play for us, another Safie froggie, now here's a guy i'd like to see picked. Another poor display by Fra and poor Philippe will be telling the world that the Evil Top 14 is robbing him of real talent and who knows we could even be running out of players before the next WC...ah ah ah

Brian who!!!!!!! but more seriously i would rather have him in my side than against me, a player for the future, plus as he plays for Toulouse he will be brought along exactly as he should be by Guy Noves so there is absolutely no reason why he will not be a massive success and will no doubt be in the next WC as St Andre is already preparing the youngsters for the occaision..

absolutely, if there is one coach that doesn't listen to media hype its definitely Guy Noves. PSA could learn by just watching Noves..
