Top 5 most entertaining games WC 2015

SA v Jap
NZ v SA
Sam v Sco
Aus v Sco
Fra v Ire

Special mentions to Ire v Arg, I didn't find it one bit entertaining but can appreciate that most would, NZ v Fra and Ita v Can.

5 best games would be a different story.

I second your list. spot on!

I'm surprised to see Eng Wal mentioned a few times.
I can understand Nz France as, for Kiwis, that's a massively satisfying game in both the manner of victory and the 2007 "revenge".
The standard of rugby in the Eng Wal game was poor, and while Wales' last try was good and i can understand the last 15-20 were exciting....i dunno. To say such a cripple fight is one of the top 5 games seems weird to me.

It was entertaining to watch, nail biting stuff, don't forget I said entertaining, and that includes the crowd atmosphere.

I am not into this kind of thread as different people have totally different perspective!

I would say that the clinical way that NZ disposed of France was awesome BUT France were pretty crap!!

No one can surely doubt that they loved the SA v Japan match!

That would be the same French side that you lost to in August, right?
Yeah but we also beat them the week before ;)

Honestly that was the beginning of the rails falling off England's cart our front 3 completely forgot how to scrummage in the intervening 6 months. Not to mention we played rubbish in general in that game.

Still not the thread for that.

There's more **** slinging on these boards than in the monkey exhibit at the zoo after chilli day these days... End world cup, put us out of our misery, I'm sorry for my absence Pro 12 you'll always be my main gal and I promise I ain't playin with no hoes no more.

Heh, yeah.

The most entertaining match of the World Cup for me personally was the NZvFrance game. I was there and I was entertained as f**k :D

Not saying it was exciting as a contest but the quality of our performance and what it meant to us made it very satisfying.

1. NZ vs Fra (QF)
2. SA vs Japan
3. Aus vs Eng
4. Aus vs Scotland (QF)
5. Japan vs Samoa

Why are people having a go at people picking NZ vs Fra. As a kiwi fan, watching the All Blacks at their clinical best, against one of our bogey sides in the WC was amazing. I would also argue that in terms of the highest quality performance in the world cup by a team it would be between that and Australia in Australia vs England.

No doubt about it the Japan vs Sa, is "The Game" of this RWC, and will be remember for the ages.
New Zealand raping France was embarrassing to watch, almost a XXX movie.
Romania beating Canada in the last minutes was very emotional.
Wales vs England was very good too.
Argentina vs Ireland was a thrilling game.

I think people are confusing Best with Entertaining, they are quite different.

Well that's true. In terms of entertainment value I certainly wouldn't expect the French game to be high up in the eyes of non-kiwi fans.

A one sided game even if your team is on the right side of it aren't normally entertaining but the way the All Blacks played in that game was amazing, especially with the history between the two sides on that ground. So I'll still keep that on the top of my list. In terms of purely neutral games SA vs Japan easily takes the cake.

That's a fair point.
I don't think neutrals (or at the very least: I don't) enjoy drubbings, which is why I was a bit bored during the NZ vs Fra game.
Sure NZ played some fantastic rugby, but I prefer games where you at least have to keep guessing as to who will win: It's why I think that RSA vs Jap was the best game this year. Some fantastic play on show and it wasn't decided until the final whistle.

My four most enjoyable matches to watch were (in no order):

NZ v France (nothing to do with redemption, all to do with the fact that it was nice to see NZ click for the first time this World Cup and score some of the best tries of the tournament)
South Africa v Japan (for all the reasons everyone else has mentioned)
Ireland v Argentina (incredibly enjoyable to see the brand of rugby Argentina played, and for them to get up over arguably the top NH side in the competition, regardless of the injuries they had suffered etc.)
England v Wales (not a fantastic match to watch, necessarily, but great to see Wales get one up on their more fancied opposition and hold on to take the match)

I chose four, mainly because no others really struck me as exceptional.

Japan - South Africa
Wales - Australia
Scotland - Australia
Scotland - Samoa
Argentina - New Zealand

Not one mention for Georgia vs Namibia? Cracking albeit sloppy game.

I was at the New Zealand vs France game and I really don't understand how anyone could say it was the most entertaining game. The crowd was flat as anything for one, the only reason it picked up was because the Irish fans had come for the weekend and started singing their heart out. France were shocking and never in the game and New Zealand were able to run past them like it was a pub team defence. Its always great to see your team on the rampage so I guess NZ fans found it most entertaining because of this. For everyone else there are about 10 different games more entertaining, the most entertaining All blacks game IMO was the first against Argentina. I was also at the SA game and although close it was not the best game to watch in terms of Rugby.
