Which of the top 5 IRB ranked teams do you think will be found wanting?

I'm sorry but I realllllllly can't see the wallabies being too troubled by ireland

Agreed.

Since 1995.. the start of PRO rugby.. the Wallabies and Irish have met 13 times.. Australia have won 10.. Ireland 2.. with one draw.

How many times had Samoa beaten Australia before this year? ;)

Records mean nothing :p

records have nothing to do with it, The Wallabies are actually in massive form for once in a long long time, and ireland, let's face it, probably aren't in good form. I know people say form has nothing to with it in a world cup, but I'm sorry it really does. I still think Aus vs Ire will be a good game, But i just don't see the wobs being troubled, especially in a country where all of them play a lot of their rugby

Don't get me wrong, I'd be incredibly surprised if Ireland won, but it's not 100% impossible

Ireland won't get pumped, I think that Australia will win by <12

Wobs need the Italy win, and it's a good thing for them they're prob. gonna get it, but it's still 2nd. place in the group for them! :) (behind us btw)

I don't want to go on about this too much as Murphy's Law makes it inadvisable to but

a) France have a long and dishonourable tradition of ******** the bed when they see the White Orcs. For some inexplicable reason, we are their kryptonite. I'd bet on worse English teams than the one going to shock France

b) Their manager is a stone cold space cadet last seen wearing his underpants on his head and pencils up his nose. He is capable of turning France into shite at the flick of a switch.

We'll see how this goes, but this is far from advantage France imo.

Well, judging simply by the way the tournament has been drawn and how I believe the groups will end up, either France or England will miss out on a semi-final. England should have an easy time winning their group, and I don't see anyone but France giving us trouble in ours and we should beat them anyway. That would set up a France vs. England quarterfinal, a game which could go either way I think.

That said, if C and D go as I expect them too, I wouldn't be too shocked to see the Springboks go out in the quarters too. D is a tough group, and they should win it, but of the four groups I'm the "least sure" of them winning their group, so to speak. That said, if Ireland finish 2nd in group C as I expect, I would say that the Irish have a decent chance to eliminate South Africa. And if South Africa slips up and finishes 2nd they'll get crushed by Australia, who I expect to win group C.

Are you sure you're not mixing him up with France's former football coach, Raymond Domenech?

Oh, you wish LOL. SA to take the mantle from France and knock NZ out in the SF.

I fancy an England v NZ final , England seem to up their game in the world cup , I think France will be found wanting. Maybe a far fetched prediction but I just feel it is Englands turning point.

SA won't make it to the semis. Their game is less than average atm and Wales will show it no later than this weekend !
France will do their RWC business as usual and reach the semis. The good new for France is that they won't have to really fight the ABs before the final.

For the sake of rugby, France will meet England in the quarter and will mince them by playing their own rugby as opposed to play boring useless english rugby like they did in 2007.

Allez les bleus

Think Aussie will disappoint in this world cup.
Can't see them making it past the semi and could see them getting knocked out in the quarters.
I think they lack the experience to handle the pressure of knock out world cup rugby.
Also one of France or England are likely to not make it (unless there's some upsets in the pool games) and my heart says it France (as I live in the UK).

Can't get it in right order.

What do we use History for? To learn. If the Germans tried to take over the world again would they invade Russia during the winter? No. (Stupid example I know).

Don't worry you will. Won't say all the reasons why, have in other threads.

Ireland deserve a capitlal letter as well. Ireland play in a similar climate and are better suited to wet and windy conditions not as good as Wallabies in the dry but they'd be goo enough. Aus have a great attack but Ireland have a great defense that's specially tailored for Aus.

Probably won't be as cold as you'd think it would be, and a fair chance it probably won't be raining for the Aus vs Ire game so I hope for Ireland's sake they aren't hedging their bets on it being a wet windy game(i doubt they are). Also I don't really think the Wallabies attack would be one that you would try and cater a defence to as they are pretty unpredictable. No disrespect to Ireland at all I think they are a good side and probably the only side I wouldn't mind seeing win the cup apart from Aus, but I just don't think they are up to the Wallabies standard at this point in time but, i digress, and we shall see what happens when they play.
