Top 14 2014/15 Season

but I'll tell you what, that Max Evans bloke there playing for Castres too, that guy seriously knows how to play the winger position though. Castres is very Scottophile, they like their Scotts over there. That fella can score tries.
well ofcourse you's do we can produce magic

Aboriginal players do tend to struggle away from their family or community so that might be something kurtley would have to weigh up over money and something stade francis might have unexpected problems with

interesting comment. Maybe you're right...I guess those guys are just too 'original' and need to stay in their original natural habitat, they're so original they're Aboriginal...okay, many excuses in advance for that.

you know what else is an interesting comment

hey ewis, my dad is bigger than yours :)

I am indeed a work in progress, but I'm not sure I'll end up thinking like you necessarily when I'm all ripe. It was just interesting to try the exercise of coming up with an alternate yet realistic 23 that should have gone to Aus. Like I said, as long as PSA is there, I'm out. And they already are a background distraction for me. I just hope they limit the damage. About the RWC, I'll reiterate that I do believe they'll shock the world, at least a little. I bet they'll win a game everybody thought they'd lose, off pure pressure and individual quality.
And "park les bleus for good", I hope you mean park them for good - until they get back to a good level again, mmm ? mmmouais...and btw, they're not "my little bleus", they're as much mine as they are yours.

Scotty: Gray is probably more likely to finish the season with most tries scored in the league than he is winning best player, but I'll let you dream, it's fine !

that's Ok BE you're entitled to your views. I don't expect you to think like me or agree with my views.
All the points have made about Toulouse in this thread are correct. They are shared by hundreds of real fans here. I'm only the messenger.
The club is at a crossroads. If we want to stay in the elite we cannot continue with the current deal with FFR and LRN, even the mild mannered Bouscatel says so. And the days of Toulouse being the breeding ground of the national side are coming to an end.

i didn't know that france leading point scores is Christophe Lamaison with 380 points ? how

indeed, '***ou' is our leading scorer so far. He also scored 28 points against the All-Blacks in a World Cup semi-final once...French players don't last very long. Our highest capped players often fall very short of others from other nations. A high cap number for us is 70 or 75, a high cap number for Ireland or England or NZ is 110.

not if your Dusautoir or Pelous (i know dusautoir does not have 100 caps but i'd reckon he can)

wow, didn't realize Pelous had 118. That's really really rare for France, and a record, also a record 42 caps as captain for France...Dusau only has 67 though. In our current XV, the most capped guys are Szar (79) Mas (73) and Michalak (71).

Lamaison only had 37 for e.g., so his point total is quite prolific really.
Even someone like Galthié, former world player of the year, an absolute cult figure in France, only played 64 matches for les Bleus.

really like our scotland squad, Chirs Patterson is the only scottish player so far to only achieve 100+ caps for scotland, and currently Ross Ford, Sean Lamont etc. have alot off cap's on then

Ireland yes but not England so much.

It's been a long time since an England player reached that many caps.
High for us is more like 70 - 80

well then you're like us a bit. We're worse than you, like, we REALLY like to chain those guys up, but England and France both are extremely deep and have tough local club leagues with the Top 14 and Prem so lots of injuries and mileage on our guys. Much easier for a BOD to get 140+ than, say, Dusautoir with his Toulouse duties and captaining France for test matches.

and with the top 14 buying players like they're buy one get one free

Finally an article up about Bordeaux, was eager to reading something hyping them up for this season and putting things in retrospect.
Talebula and Guitoune on the wings, pretty solid team overall, well coached. The article also warns of young flyhalf Romain Lonca who apparently should turn a few heads this year as he gets a bit more playing time, despite being a third option behind Pierre Bernard and Nicolas Sanchez.
Will be exciting to watch those guys, boy, pretty eager to see what they'll produce as they were clearly one of the more attack-minded teams last year, add Guitoune there...

Double header last night in Montpellier Lyon 12 Oyonnax 7, Montpellier 42 Saracens 15, Montpellier scored 6 tries in a fast attacking game infront of around 6/7000 spectators excellent atmosphere and Montpellier looked very sharp for the first of 3 pre season games the following next fridays are against Clermont in St Affique then London Irish in Grenoble.

hey gaston, were you at the game ? I saw the result but couldn't find a way to watch it anywhere, and later couldn't find any info whatsoever about its details. I saw Fall got one try. Which MP and which Saracens were those ? not nearly full strength for either I'm sure...esp. the Saracens I'd imagine given the score.

Also, Grenoble just lost in Argentina to the Pumas, 44-21.
Tries by Juan Imhoff (21'), Juan Leguizamón (24'), Manuel Montero (34'), Nicolas Sánchez (60'), Matías Moroni (67'), González Amorosino (77') so it was the real Pumas, not a B side. Still a fine result I think for Grenoble, a "small" Top 14 team, who managed a couple of scores themselves, Julien Caminati (28') et Arnaud Heguy (80').

Sarries was a young quite under strength side. None of their Current international players played.

Was a bit tasty at the start quite an angry game.

But MP looked good.

yeh I figured. Saw the squad after all, totally a B side...still can't get my hands (or feet) on the Montypellier 23 though...still very good for Montypellier to reach 40 on a strong, well coached team regardless. Promising for the season, perhaps.

Yes i was there, at the airport to meet Saracens, then the hotel, and the game, but spent most of it in their Changing room( translation with the medics and the Sarries Staff) after the prop Barrington went off after concussion they shipped him off to CHU and he stayed over night for tests but was told later he was ok. Saracens were a mixture, but plenty of 1st team players lots of Sud Aff's for a pre season it was tough nothing given at all and Saracens did have the first half but then we made 10 changes and things were much different we ran them of the park, but it was entertaining what little i saw off it.and 7,000 turned up not bad to say that the first half of the first game Lyon v Oyonnax was played under a raging rain storm. It was actually televised live on Beinsport (both games) not impressed with them, Canal + far superior. All our internationals did not play so we had plenty of younsters so it was pretty even as far as that was concerned. Very hot evening and Sarries had trouble with the overbearing heat (humidity it was 30° even at 21.00 and about 45°in the changing rooms unbearable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
