Top 14 2014/15 Season

Voici. Ze composition of Clermont against Montypellieronni Heraulto. Love those sides, you get to see guys you don't get to see a lot of, shows the talented younger guys, but there's also the presence of regulars to make this really solid and not just some B squad. None of the 3 weapon-assaulted victims there though, but those will be ready for when the regular season starts.

oh you're making fun, but I do copy/paste in a very elegant way. I wish you were here to see it, it's quite a sight I assure you. It's one of these things that language can't really quite depict the fine details of, alas.
And let's see if Montypellier can put 45 past this one, mmm ?

I reckon you might be a little disappointed possibly given Toulouse's past two years and current overall form...but don't be a bish though, give em a chance. There's lots and lots of talent on that team, so you won't get bored watching them, in the home games at least. Huget, Fritz, Fickou, Yann David, Poitrenaud, Palisson, Médard, Vincent Clerc, Mcalister...animated by Doussain and Floude (that's his new French name now...), along with the Picamoles, Nyanga, Dusautoir, Census Johnston, Steenkamp, Tekori and the young Camara, Tolofua or Galan in the forwards....there's lots of excitement and when they click it's a thing of beauty. You wonder why they don't click more often.
 
not this season I'm afraid. Realistically we can't compete in both competitions missing up to 7 key players. Not realistic. I'd love to be wrong.

I see Toulon Clermont Castres Montpellier. Dark horses Racing Grenoble. Lyon suprise package. I'd love to be wrong as well.

hey wait a second, Stade Fromagerie would beg to differ, I think with many of their younger guys maturing they'll be a force to be reckoned with. Let's not forget they were second best in the league for a while and only faltered a little towards the end. SUCKS Bonneval is out for the season. Grenoble ? I don't think so, I'd replace them by Bordeaux. I agree with the LOU, I feel they're going to surprise a few teams and get a few upsets.
And about Toulouse, yes in this day and age where the Top 14 has taken up all the space and pushed everything out the window, supplying that many players for a full season may take too much away from em. But they have good depth, just like Clermont who supply a lot of guys too. And Paris supply quite a few guys themselves, but aren't as deep as those last two.
 
I dont care. They're my pick for the season. Didn't say I was writting off the rest.

And with the 30 Elite wankology scheme on the horizon we can only expect to make up numbers. This will change after the WC.

There is not the quality depth we use to have because recruitment has not been driven by same standard as before. Too many has-been signings (Harinordoquy) and underperformers who should have walked (Tekori Steinkamp) the transfer plank.
 
hey Toulon smashed Toulouse, friendly or not, we had a very good back line and weren't too bad upfront on paper. 6 tries...
Bordeaux put 30 past Racing...that's the kind of result I like from them, solid stuff and promising for the season. Castres puts 45 on SF...C.O. also looking serious this season.

I'm not sure if this is entirely accurate, but I think it's all Toby Flood's fault. Yeah, it's got to be the new fly-half with his stale, bland English style at 10....pfffff....sooooo disappointing...
 
Shouldn't have shaved his head.

I blame the French players around him putting there bad habits on him, I swear he has gained 3 stone of fat since being there typical lazy top 14 teams.
 
I hadn't thought about it until now... but I'm actually quite curious to see how Flood goes.

I accept the shaved head part, but you've got to come up with new material with the fat Top 14 thing man, renew yo game son. And yes, about that, poor Toby Flood was fed English "food" all this time and was finally left free to escape the wrong side of the Channel and as you can see he's already put on a bit of weight. He's just now discovering a whole new meaning to the idea of 'food', so you can't really blame the man. The poor thing was seen devouring everything in his path, even stealing teammate Census Johnston's share through clever trickery and typical English perfidy. But he'll turn French in time, patience, he's just still a little new...
 
Flood was disappointed at first as he ordered pie and chips but the waiter bought him the nearest equivalent, Boeuf en croute ( Beef Wellington to you guys) and after tasting decided to stay and signed for another 4 years, all we need to see now is if he makes the first team!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
