Third Test: Australia v British and Irish Lions (06/07/13)

Was 1 of anti Gatlands but I will say fair play he made calls they worked today and Aus were blown out of water

The three tests have proven that winning a Lions series is about having a decent size squad you can rotate and about the group as a unit. Not singling out individuals and hyping them up to the degree where they cannot be dropped without people thinking treason has been committed.

Well done Lions, fantastic victory! Congrats to Gatland and his coaches (esp Rowntree, the scrum was brilliant) too, they've proven their critics wrong.

Haha Roberts saying "there was no bulls***" on live tv. He doesn't give a f***

I think the Irish newspapers will be pretty quiet on BOD-Gate.

Oh, and surely "Dingo" Deans is gone-burger now
TBF, should've been gone last year or so.

He's a roach - will always find a way to crawl through **** and get through the other side. :p

With so many Welsh players involved in this tour, any other Welsh fan think that this could be a turning point in terms of Wales v SH sides? This will surely give them the confidence to go out there and turn 'em over. For once, maybe the Lions tour will be of benefit to Welsh rugby!

No call it egg on face or whatever we got it wrong it was great victory there's no denying it people like me were wrong and great to see
Aussies are celebrating as hard as the Lions I think.

Deans will be a goner by next week

Yeah definitely Dullonien, think they will benefit from the feeling of beating Australia, obviosuly because they haven't since 2009 (so some of the players haven't at all).

My brother came up with a conspiracy (jokingly) that Gats had selected 10 Welsh so that they could be on a winning team against Aus to get 1 up on them before the 2015 WC :p Don't think Gatland is quite that cynical though, despite what many people on this forum have themselves believe.

After all the ridiculous petty ****e that went up about not supporting the lions, it was needed. Back your damn team no matter what.
You gotta understand that a lot of people may have felt disassociated with the Lions because it was so heavily Welsh. I hope they backed the Lions after all anyway, because Corbs, Sexton, Bowe, Parling etc. played big contributions too. But the media may spin this as a Welsh win, and it then feels a little exclusive.

Anyway, I take back my criticism. I'd be an idiot not to. Especially a lot of credit to Davies, whose left boot really troubled Australia.

Halfpenny was the clear man of the tour, don't need to say anything more about that than will be said over the next few days.

But I'd nominate a foursome of fantastic players this tour. Corbisiero is one. After the injuries to Healy and Jenkins, I was worried. But Corbs has been incredible, and I'll continue for now to call him England's best player. AWJ is another, three brilliant games, the engine of the team, he's been the most fantastically consistent this tour. Sexton is the last. Maybe questionable at times in defence, but he pulled the strings so well, and some of his attacking moves (the crossfield to North whilst in his own 22!?)...

Bring on NZ 2017! :D

One step at a time mate. Lets keep with reality for now

If Biggar comes good, and you get a decent replacement for Adam Jones.

Possibly, but don't forget a portion of the Welsh squad will have had their confidence knocked after getting beaten by Japan.

This is what I love about Lions series - Scott Quinnell stumbling round the pitch acting like he's one of the team and has just played, and James Bond (yes ****ing James Bond) in the changing room

None will, virtually none of those players will feature in the next squad, except on the bench if lucky.

We are going to need a tighthead to replace Adam Jones, but same team again in 4 years?

Actually screw it, Adam Jones will only be 36. :p

1 opposite though I'd warn although it usually only Irish but Lions tours could break alot of guys bodies and injury issues could kick in. I hope not as you never wish injury on anyone but it is possible
