Thanks for such a warm welcome! It's great to come across a web community that isn't filled with *****ing and back-biting, and comments such as "OmG Teh Xbox IS tEH SUXxxors!!!1111!!"
I must say that being told I had to stop playing rugby laid me low for a good week - especially since it was right in the middle of the Six Nations, so I had plenty of reminders of what I'd be missing out on! The thing is, I reckon I was pretty lucky in the grand scheme of things - could have been a dislocated shoulder popping in and out for the rest of my life, or (god forbid) my neck.
And Webby, just a bit of advice from an old man - make sure that whatever you do for the next two years at uni (academically or otherwise), that you enjoy it! There's nothing worse than spending a year slogging through a module on the basis of the Early Modern English family, when you'd much rather be studying 60s Britain. Moreover you'll probably be crap at it if you've no interest in it - you only get one chance so make the most of it!
Listen to me, perhaps I should have studied philosophy?!
