It would have been smarter about 12 months ago when the Russians were pounding Ukrainian positions with glide bombs from air bases well within ATACMS range but better late than never I suppose...

And seems more aimed at setting a new precedent for other nations for if/when Trump cuts the supplies.
Realistically* Trump can cut aid, but he can't really roll back previous precedents like this - nor can he viably insist that other countries do if UK, France, Germany allow the same for their arms.


* Sadly, of course, Trump and Reality aren't always in agreement with one another.
