I doubt it. The EU has been too war shy and allowing their militaries to decline to turn it around. There's also the possibility Trump will actively campaign against Ukraine rather than simply pulling US aid. He's a vindictive ******* and probably still hates the leadership for not engaging in his fraud.

The new right wing in the USA is far worse than the old. At least with the old right wing, they still kept their traditional allies. Trump trashes other democracies and cosies up to dictators. He and the far right have convinced themselves and their followers that liberals everywhere are the real enemy and dictatorships and other far right lunatics are their friends.

It's not just the weapons, America has been the life support machine keeping the Ukrainian economy going. If Trump switches it off and given the Ukrainians seem to be almost helping Russia win at times this year then its good night Kyiv.

Not much scope is there? France have ceased supplying Israel and I think Macron will continue to fund the weapons industry and attempt to grow that and their military (easier said than done) so you'd hope for an uptick there but nowhere near enough to offset what Trump will take away.

Germany postured to do the same as France but predictably bottled it.

Both nations really need to step up now and get other member states in tow. The EU needs to cut the bureaucracy and become far more pro active and spend money. It was very short sighted giving up the continents financial and

It seems a lot of the sentiment from both sets of voters last night is they don't see why they are throwing money at the Ukraine. When the economy is poor and they have there own problems.

As short sighted as it is America will view this as Europe's problem to sort out. Europe can't or will struggle to match the US spending and I think there will be a general reluctance to do so.

One show I heard today said there's already whispers in some European countries that they can't keep throwing money at the Ukraine either.

It's one area I think Starmer will have to take the lead even dragging Europe along. However at some point even a few people here will start asking why are we funding the Ukraine. We can't afford it, what about freezing pensioners etc, etc, etc.
