The Premiership 2006-2007

But I really do feel that something needs to be done to bridge the Gap in the premiership... if a team like Bolton or Tottenham could break the top four on a regular basis then there may be the chance of a change... but it seems that Everton and Spurs have a good season then slide at the beginning of the next season...

The Platini plan!

Have only the top 2 or 3 going into the CL and then the rest of them into the UEFA....but have the UEFA as a collective bargained tournament with a sponsor and a TV deal. That'd share the cash to many more clubs.

I know it's one of my pet topic but it's so sly what the G14 did to European Football. The CL is basically a rish kids only club and the UEFA has been made into a safety net for the big teams should they slip up.

Clubs in the UEFA are free to negotiate their own TV deals. That way if a big name finds themselves mixing with the unfashionable clubs they get to keep virtually all the money themselves.

I honestly don't believe the G14 is this big evil they get made out to be...

and I wouldn't say Paris Saint German is a major force in football and they are in it... Its a selection of the top achieving clubs in Europe getting together for a chin wag on the current issues and how they can help resolve it

But you were just lamenting the big four having the top places sewn up....why do you think that's happened? Money, money, money for the elite in the CL plus treble redundancy fall-backs into the UEFA where clubs get to dictate their own terms. Seriously, how do you think that came about?

I believe they negotiate for the best interests of football, in the clubs eyes.. But I agree with you that the Uefa cup needs to become a bigger event in football... I believe the Cup Winners Cup was a fantastic comp for smaller clubs again...

I don't believe money is behind it... look at the money invested into teams like Newcastle, Spurs and West Ham... has that made a difference...

Well they aren't very good at it 'cause the rich are just getting richer and the gap is getting more and more tangible.

You lot need to make your mind up about the G14. One minute Whiness is proclaiming how evil it is, and cue the "small club" comments, he says how much he appreciates the G14....

No the Rich get rich because of Investment... Look at Newcastle and Spurs... What have they won in the last 3/4 years

and they are still Rich... rumour has it that Newcastle have a £50 Million Transfer Kitty this summer...

Don't get me wrong I don't neccessarily agree with the G14. Their only valid point is that if players are injured on international duty they should be suitably compensated by the FA of that players nation.

I agree with that one...look at what happened to Newcastle with Owen or your lot with Cisse. The thing is though what happens if someone like Drogba gets injured on international duty. You can't really expect the FA of a country like The Ivory Coast to pay his wages for the duration of the inury plus compensation for the club (I mean it's not the national associations doing that the wages are so high). It's got to come at FIFA level I think.

If the Ivory Coast cannot find correct insurance that cover things like that then they should get FIFA to look into it for them. No excuses on that front as players and national associations can be insured against such predicaments. I do entirely know what you mean - without any sort of insurance plans it would be impossible for tiny countries like that to sustain wages if injured.

i have no idea why FIFA doesnt have one worldwide policy for every player. at the end of the day its FIFA that benefits the most from the tournoments.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaand... United Draw pretty much means the ***le is destined for London.

f***ing c***ish b'oro.

Well all I can say and say this once...

COME ON CHELSEA!!! (Note I am in the premiership thread and thats the only place it counts!!!)

Oh just when you thought that it was all over and the ***le was going to be decided in the United Chelsea match, when Chelsea had the chance to slash the point difference down to 1, what do they go and do, they go and DRAW. Nice one Newcastle. COME ON MAN UNITED!!!!

hahaha!! the look on Jose's face was priceless... theres nothing better then giving him false hope then dashing it...
