SuperRugby: Hurricanes v Blues. 04/05/2012

I'm with ya, I've said it many times. I think Barrett is the most exciting back to come onto the scene since Dan Carter. Just have to wait and see how much of that potential he will realize. Of the impressive group of young 10's in NZ I think Barrett is the one who can actually rival carter in good form. but that will require a lot of hard work to go with his talent.

Aparently he only missed one tackle against the blues, so either he's improving or the blues had a useless gameplan. maybe a bit of both...

Barrett has a size advantage over Cruden, for starters.
From the statistics I have, Barrett misses a fair few tackles.

He's still young. And as long as he has a better work ethic/commitment than Brett at getting better at defense, then he should be right. :)

This game reminded me of the time when my dad threw his shoe at the TV.

The Blues reminded me of what I left in the toilet the morning after a heavy night on Guinness following a vindaloo dinner

Rep for all three of you guys....if the Blues lose this badly on the upcoming weekend....dear god

Rep returned...

If the Blues lose this game, I will not watch any more of their games for the rest of the season... It's been painful to watch so far, lose to the Lions and they might as well default the rest of their games.

i see ranger isn't even in the 22 for the lions game, is he dropped or what??

[h=1]Woodcock loses fitness race[/h]9 May 2012
All Blacks prop Tony Woodcock has not recovered from injury and will miss the Blues' match against the Lions.
Woodcock, Chris Lowrey, George Moala and Rene Ranger have all been ruled out, forcing embattled coach Pat Lam to make further changes to his struggling side.
Gareth Anscombe returns at pivot, while Michael Hobbs shifts one position out to No 12. This in turn sees Ma'a Nonu starting at No 13. Benson Stanley will play on the wing.
Peter Saili comes in at No 8 while Daniel Braid is handed another chance at openside flank. Liaki Moli starts in the second row with Filo Paulo dropping to the bench.
Meanwhile, the Blues will soon advertise for a new head coach rather than wait until the end of what's been a terrible year for the franchise.
Lam will be allowed to re-apply for his job, although it seems unlikely that his bosses will re-appoint him following such a nightmare 2012 season.
'The reality is, the results of the Blues to date this season have put considerable focus on the role and as those in the rugby industry know, this is the time coaches look to secure their coaching posts for next year and beyond' Blues chairman Gary Whetton said.
'In order to ensure we have the best opportunity to garner interest from coaches both locally and abroad, this position needs to be advertised now.'
Blues – 15 Hadleigh Parkes, 14 David Raikuna, 13 Ma'a Nonu, 12 Michael Hobbs, 11 Benson Stanley, 10 Gareth Anscombe, 9 Piri Weepu, 8 Peter Saili, 7 Daniel Braid, 6 Luke Braid (c), 5 Ali Williams, 4 Liaki Moli, 3 Charlie Faumuina, 2 Tom McCartney, 1 Tevita Mailau:
Subs: 16 James Parsons, 17 Angus Ta'avao, 18 Filo Paulo, 19 Steven Luatua, 20 Alby Mathewson, 21 Lachie Munro, 22 Sherwin Stowers.

"Everyday I'm Shuffling!"

Lam must be a fan of teh song 'cos that's what he's doing with the side every week. I feel like he's playing Rugby Challenge on PS3 and just shuffling players around for the heck of it.

Perhaps they should offload more.
Sums up my thoughts when I saw the team. Poor old Alby, Weepu starting again. I think Lam must be trying to see how many different inside back combinations he can do. Hobbs at 12 now!
