Bottom of the log thriller! How low can you go?

who would have thought that the blues would be desperate to beat the lions to avoid the wooden spoon? And it's even worse than that because the lions actually look the more organized team and the blues will have to lift to beat them - if the blues play like they have been the will be in for another tough day.

What's the crowd going to be like? Actually as bad as the blues have been Eden park has at least had a few people there. Still got some very loyal fans, you wont get me to that game even though I can see Eden park from my balcony...

Interested it see what Lam does with his game of spin the bottle selections this week.

Pretty much.

Hobbs at 12 this week and Stanley back at wing.

I'm waiting for them to put Mealamu at first five or something.

I was going for Nonu. Might work for a bit, constant crash ball. Just have to say 'sod it' as far as territorial kicking goes. Weepu to fullback and Anscombe to second row next week. Carlos Spencer in as scrum half.

If trades were allowed in Super Rugby; I'd package Ali Wiliams, Ranger, and Moli for Taumololo from the Chiefs - then put him on the wing.

Maybe trade Pat Lam for a coaching panel of 3 guys from TRF. :D

Rugbywriter, Savage Lez, and SaracensAngel?

You have to put at least one of your trades in as a halfback, Pat Lam's rules.
Besides, who needs Taumalolo when you have this dashing chap?

More injuries for the Blues... Man, their hopes of beating the Lions have dwindled. Ranger, Moala and Lowrey out?....

Just saw the team, WTF does Pat Lam have against Sherwin Stowers. I don't understand why he hasn't been getting more game time, now with Ranger and Moala out, Stowers still can't make the starting line up... Fire Pat Lam on the spot, New Zealand is done with him.

With the latest 4 injuries to the Blues I fancy the Lions to take this one
Back home the likelyhood of the Lions being relegated/merged seems more realistic by the day, they will be extra motivated

soooo... Who's watching Glee? 7:30 tonight?

I just put the last $4 in my TAB account on the Lions.... $5 is good money for the 1-12 win option.

With Yesterday's SARU meeting it's now a done deal that the last team in this year's conference for SA will not play next year, so basically the Lions can now only play for pride...

If the Lions can do the same with their mauls as they did vs the Chiefs and just have a better attitude on defence, then they will easily beat the Blues. But I doubt that will change within a week's time.

These are the 2 teams who have tried to run out of their own 22 the most in this years tournament, I don't expect much kicking to happen...

It's a proven stat that winning teams kick the ball. Last year the Reds and Crusaders were the teams that kicked the most, the year before that the Bulls. It doesn't take a genius to realise that running out of your own 22 if the opposition defense is anything near up in a line is a big mistake. At least not up to the point where you are 6 points adrift with 2 minutes to go.

The 1st half has only gone to show why these two teams are bottom of the log. Lots of effort but dreadful execution and no gameplan.

What is the score here. With clients like Badgena I can't afford to take time off to watch rygby. :(

Ha, back to work mister
Lions are more dreadful than the dreadful Blues, I can use better descriptive words in native Afrikaans

18-3 to the Blues, about 70min done

P.S. Plenty sites have live commentary

25-3 to the Blues

Lions, you deserve to be relegated...

I couldn't watch beyond the first half. Blues were the better team but it wasn't good to watch. It really was a genuine battle for the wooden spoon. Awful stuff.
