The Kings are hosting the Bulls in Port Elizabeth in the game that closes the weekend of Super Rugby. The Kings are coming off a strong tour for a debutant, leaving Australia unbeaten and with 6 points. They managed a draw against the log leading Brumbies, while the Bulls only managed to win in Auckland but lost to the Crusaders, Reds and Brumbies. Without a doubt, the most difficult tour possible for a South African team. The Kings won't make the play-offs, but they prove to be a more than capable team and on a good day can beat anyone. They can cause more havoc than the Lions did in recent years. Can they beat the Bulls?

Some stats:
Both the Bulls and the Kings have scored tries in 6 of their 7 games. The Kings scored more tries than the Bulls in total though

There's no history at Super Rugby level since this is the Kings debut year.

Basson on the bench after returning form injury the only change from last weeks 22
Looking forward to see how much the crowd will lift the Kings for this one and when Luke Watson meets Pierre Spies.
Bulls still to take it.

I would just like to congratulate coach Frans Ludeke, his wife gave birth to triplets yesterday, 2 girls and a boy...

I bit of extra stress for the Coach the coming weeks...

Also, Pierre Spies has been very vocal this last week, and in his latest media conference, he has called on SARU to give the boks sabbaticals:

Loved it when they stated two girls and a Bull (boy)

Congrats to the Ludeke family

Just an update Arno Botha replaces Dewald Potgieter and Jacques Potgieter comes onto the bench.

Probably the best team the kings can field, no questions of rotaion this week.
We won't be easy but the Bulls are getting to that part of the season :p.

Bulls by 7.

Arno is a far better player, hope Ludeke's logic was rotation previously

Exactly, I don't really rate the Potgieters. The Bulls should have done everything in their power to keep CJ Stander, no use crying over spilt milk.

Bulls are brilliant tonight, see the difference with just 2 world class players, Arno Botha and Jan Serfontein.
The rest feeds of their energy

This game had all the makings of a 70's porno movie. Balls, Beards and Cheesy music.

And also, one team got f*****.
I have seen knitting competitions in Baberton more exciting as this game. Kick and chase kick and chase. With a whopping 61 percentage possession they kicked away 72 perccent of it. They turned over the ball 22 times. The Kings tried to out muscle them with kicking and the greek don't have a boot like Steyn and eventually. lost the territory after 50 minutes of dooking it out in a kicking contest. Kick the ball 23 times down the throat of a guy like Dagg and you will get slaughtered

Congratulations to the Bulls on a great performance. Obviously not too happy that we got hammered, but it's always good to see an SA team play some fine rugby.
Has shown us up in a big way, we don't really have the chops to get ourselves out of sticky territorial battles. We don't have a fullback that can counter attack and really get us on the front foot when playing the territorial game, perhaps when SP Marais returns but who knows.

Otherwise a clinical performance by the Bulls, hope you continue along these lines for the sake of the Boks!

Did you see the game or did you read the stats? The bulls played a territorial game after their 20 point lead, hoping to exploit their weakness at fullback. It's a tactic, and an effective(albeit when Kirchner and Basson is there) one at that.

I don't know why you think the bulls only have one game plan. Try and watch games more objectively.

There is no need to try and tell this guy anything. He has a problem with the Bulls and no matter what you say, he will just ignore you flat and continue with his trolling...

It was a dominant display by the Bulls, plain and simple. Who was without their coach for most of the week, I'd say it was pretty much a thrashing. Our backline got more involved. and yes we kicked, but so did the Kings, so what?? the entire country was wet with rain everywhere, underfoot condition wouldn't have been ideal, hence the kicking, which the Bulls also won comprehensively.

Agreed cyclone and hein

Also noticed the last two weeks that JJ's game improved, now is it cause he is not in the bok mix anymore or because he has a decent no 12 for a change?
All in all the Bulls looks set for a play-off spot with the Cheetahs
Sharks and Stormers will be lucky if any of them makes the 6th spot
